A weapon to condemn homosexuality. Isn't it kind of ironic that claiming to love a guy is reason to marginalize the gay community?

Hello all! I pray that you are all doing well today.
I would like to share with you one example of how God turns our bad situation into good. God never intends for us to go through hard times alone. When we have Him in our lives and we glorify Him through every thing that we go through, sometimes what we see is that what we thought was a bad situation, turns into the greatest blessing.
One thing that really made this hit home for me was right before my son started school this year. My vehicle broke completely down with no hope of getting fixed. I was so angry and upset, I really didn't act very Christ-like, I through a temper tantrum when my husband told me that it would just cost too much to fix. So I decided that I would have to deal with it and I would have to get up every morning and walk my son to school. This has turned out to be the greatest blessing imaginable. Spending this extra time with my child has brought us closer than I could have ever hoped for.

Lets say that you were part of a group of people who were in attendence at a prayer gathering who were praying for certain issues, all prayers being done in the name of JESUS CHRIST. Furthermore, lets say that you and your group were kidnapped by a group of god hating extremists who demanded that you renounce JESUS CHRIST as nothing more than a fraud, and you must do this live on the internet. They informed you that you would be released to safety if you complied. But they also told you that if you refused they would kill you, live via the internet. What would you do Christians?

The neighbor is a married stay at home mom with kids. I have a wife and children. She is not interested in me in a relationship way. This is something else entirely. I leave the house, there she is watching what I am doing. I come home, she is watching. I mow the lawn, there she is. I take the dogs out, she is there. No one else does this, just her. What is her problem? Each and everytime I go out side or leave, she comes out.

I absolutely hate it. It's disgusting and unhygenic. But so many kids are doing it now right? What can we do, as a community, to stop it?

Lanithka asked this of me earlier, and I thought I would answer her this way while making a question out of it.

I see me as a Lottery winner. LOL Well, you asked. If I can not do that, I guess I will still be working. I have this habit called "eating" and it costs money.

Most likely I will be married and maybe have a family. Just have to find the right woman who will accept my sense of humor and pretend my jokes are funny. =)

...had her minions surreptitiously baptize non christians on their death beds without their approval? Under the guise of cooling their brows, the sisters would ask the ailing "Would you like a ticket to heaven?" and would then baptize anyone who answered in the affirmative with no regard to their respective religious belief (or lack thereof).

People come and go, we live now and be gone after some years, nd be gone, and new one comes and be gone after some year. We face all aspects of life, we eat, enjoy, fail, get sick, get well, fail and triumph and die. What we do? with all this passing time and all be gone?

We chat for what? What is there in life? What is the real meaning of life? Some say to enjoy, others say to be remembered, some say to contribute to the future of mankind. Yes those are all good reasons to live but all will pass away. Great man made things ended, even great men ends. There were people who lived here 300, 500, 700 and so years ago, they were our forefathers and who are they? they loughed, cried got angry and and felt what we feel but all gone, just like us. After 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 years who will know us? Just like them we were all long gone. Tell me what is the real essence of life. How can we get into the real essence.

Tell us so we may have a truely meaningful life.

Thanks

Seeing that the circumstances under which that beloved hymn was composed (google "John Newton") was an adult conversion to faith, by grace ...

... and that we believe "all [from God] is grace", as St. Therese of Lisieux wrote ...

... and that we also believe we're justified by grace?

Otherwise, wouldn't we be singing "Amazing Works"?

(I'm on a "hymn" theme today, I guess)

Why are so many good, decent and loving religious people willing to take a black eye?

Why do so many of you allow hate mongers and half informed, radical right wing bigots to besmirch religion, faith and God?

Why don’t the truly faithful and loving, those who truly know God, or whomever you worship, why don’t you regulate the hypocrisy and bigotry that is shoveled onto the world by so many evil doers in the name of your God?

It’s a horrible condition. I wish you would all stand up and take your God back from those who would use him to preach, and instill hate and worse, use Him to promote murder.

What a wonderful world it would be.

A few months ago I attempted a series of questions for atheists. Unfortunately, I didn't start right, and realizing this had to step back for a while to try to think about how I was going to try to discuss certain concepts in a Q & A format. I believe that I'm better prepared at this point.

"I think, therefore I am." What is wrong with taking this as the first principle of philosophy?
