Jesus Christ is God
The scriptures bear abundant testimony that Jesus Christ is God. I believe the Bible 100%. It is the word of God. If you don't believe it, Jesus is of no effect to you, you are still in your sins."
Additional Verses:
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, BELIEVED ON in the world, RECEIVED UP into glory."
--1 Timothy 3:16
"But unto the SON he saith, 'Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom'...And, 'Thou, LORD, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands."
-- Hebrews 1:8, 10
"I and my Father are ONE."
--Jesus Christ, John 10:30
"...CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
--Philippians 2:5-8
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY GHOST: and THESE THREE ARE ONE."
--1 John 5:7
"... feed the church of GOD, which he hath purchased with his OWN BLOOD."
--Acts 20:28
"Hereby perceive we the love of GOD, because he LAID DOWN HIS LIFE for us...
--1 John 3:16
"And they stoned Stephen, calling upon GOD, and saying, LORD JESUS, receive my spirit."
--Acts 7:59
"For unto us A CHILD IS BORN, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace."
--Isaiah 9:6
"And Thomas answered and said unto him [JESUS], My Lord and MY GOD."
--John 20:28
-
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, AND DWELT AMONG US, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
--John 1:1-4, 14
"Philip saith unto him, 'Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.' Jesus saith unto him, 'Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? HE THAT HATH SEEN ME HATH SEEN THE FATHER; and how sayest thou then, 'Shew us the Father?''"
-- John 14:8-9
...CHRIST, who is the IMAGE OF GOD..."
--II Corinthians 4:4
"...glory of GOD in the FACE OF JESUS CHRIST."
--II Corinthians 4:6
"GOD...hath in these last days spoken unto us by his SON...who being the brightness of his glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON..."
--Hebrews 1:1-3
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
1:15 WHO IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn* of every creature:
1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
*firstborn: pre-eminence in rank more than to priority in time. This can be shown in passages where the term 'firstborn' is used of the pre-eminent son who was not the eldest, e.g. Psalm 89:27, where David is called 'firstborn' although he was actually the youngest son.
"For in [Jesus] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
-- Colossians 2:9
..they shall call his name EMMANUEL, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US."
--Matthew 1:23
"The voice of him [John the Baptist] that crieth in the wilderness, PREPARE ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway FOR OUR GOD."
-- Isaiah 40:3
THESE PEOPLE DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT JESUS WAS GOD AND THOUGHT HE BLASPHEMED WHEN HE TOLD THE TRUTH.
"The Jews answered [Jesus], saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."
-- John 10:33

"Define the Trinity and loose your mind; deny it and loose your soul." Billy Graham
God is infinite our minds are finite. How can we expect to understand the infinite.
If you are a believer continue to read the Bible. You will find answers. You will discover more questions too. Just keep in mind that some of the worlds greatest minds have pondered this question and have not found the answer.
If you are a nonbeliever and you are trying to play the 'trip up game' then you will neither understand nor will this help you.
One more thought if you are an Agnostic or an Atheist :
" What if I'm right and what if you're wrong" . The consequences go beyond a meer Oops!

I'm not nor have ever been catholic but the best explanation I've heard is St. Pat's.
A clover has three separate leaves yet is one.
In normal conversation the son is always considered lesser than the father & the spirit lesser still because it's not tangible. That might be the idea of giving each a separate number in the order. But God is spirit who came clothed in flesh (the weaker or lesser) to stand in the gap. Being flesh He was subject to all man's temptations. Christ had to "grow in wisdom & stature" being flesh so the spirit (God) that gave man life had to be here to comfort & teach Him as well.
Try to look at it this way. I can give someone CPR with my breath (spirit) & bring them to life but I still exist apart from that person I saved. I also have a spirit that is separate from my flesh though indwelling. That's why I have a conscience despite what my actions say. When I die I no longer need the spirit breath or the flesh & my full spirit will dwell with God.
Christ rose in the flesh (though an immortal one). When God's plan is completed I don't believe it will be so much God retiring as all 3 joining into the one they began as only in a perfect, immortal flesh like Adam was before the sin in the garden so God can dwell among men.

The old Jewish religion, Kaballah (not the popular celebrity following, the real deal) considered God to be infinite. He was everything; all encompassing. A book on mathematics and Judaism that I read recently mentions that for Christians, God was explained as a trinity to ease the mental struggle of comprehending an infinite all encompassing being. It's a lot easier to count to 3 than infinite.

God is a complex being. We only use 10% of our brain.Perhaps if we could use more we would understand better.Did you ever wonder when it says "No man can see God and live."..and then some do and live, how that is?It is because no man can see God in His full Godhead. But Jesus, who only took that name at the incarnation, was the eternal Word of God and revealed God to man.In the Old Test. He showed up as "The Angel of the Lord" as opposed to an angel. He talked to Adam and Eve,he sat and ate with Abraham and gave him prophecies about Isaac and Sodom and Gommorah,He appeared to Moses,Joshua (as the captain of the Lord's Hosts),to Samsons' parents ,Gideon and wrestled with Jacob.Jacob then said"I have seen the face of God yet my life is preserved".
Genesis 1 says "Let US make man in our image.."
Then you read John1,Collosians 1,and Hebrews 1 and see that it was Jesus with the Father creating everything...."all things, the worlds and all that are in them".
The Father,Son and Holy Spirit are one God in three person's.It is like 1x1x1=1 God not 1+1+1= 3 Gods.
Even Peter calls the Holy Spirit ,God in Acts 5 talking to Ananias,"You have lied to the Holy Spirit...you have not lied to man but to God".

I understand the idea of the trinity, and I believe in the trinity. But I believe that since we have to count to three since the word has 'three' in it's meaning, people want to place the Son of God as the 'second person' in the trinity.
I guess if we are counting to three there has to be a two. But I do not see any other reason to call Him 'second' than that.

The Trinitarian belief contains three planks: (1) There is but one God (2) The Father is God, The Son is God and The Holy Spirit is God and (3) the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are eternally distinct.

There is not one verse in the Bible where Jesus said God is triune and that he is the second person of the trinity.

there is only one God....the Father in heaven
he happened to have a spiritual son, in heaven that was sent to us to teach us and help us...this was Jesus.....Jesus never said he was God, but the son of God
the trinity is proposed by the catholic church...it makes the Father son and spirit equal in power, which is not true. jesus said his father was greater than he was
the mystery of the son was pretty well cloaked before Jesus came..but the evidence was there...i did a study on it and i can send my notes if you wish..just email me
