In India lots of Christian Ashrams in the style as ancient hindu ashrams are sprouting..Christian Swamis and Sanyasis are frequently seen every where..wearing robes as ancient sanyasis, growing long beard, building ashrams as ancient days....It is useless to tell the missionaries that Hindu sâdhanâ has nothing to do with building some stylised houses, exhibiting pretentious signboards, putting on a particular type of dress, and performing certain rituals in a particular way Hindu sâdhanâ has been and remains a far deeper and difficult undertaking. It means being busy with one's own self rather than with saving others It means clearing the dirt and dross within one's own self rather than calling on others to swear by a totem trotted out as the only saviour It has no place for superstitions like atoning death of a chirst Above all it is not consistent with double-talk-harbouring one motive in the heart and mouthing another A counterfeit must remain a counterf howsoever lavishly advertised

If you look around us today you see workaholics. People spending all their time doing things they dont want to do.
Being people they dont want to be.

My mom works with people with mental disorders and whenever I went to visit her at work...they might have been insane, but they were much happier then the people I see everyday.
They were happy about the little things.
They were happy just to see a bird sitting on their window ledge.

Why is it that the insane people have more love for life then the sane people?

Early this morning a friends grandmother passed away.

They are Jewish and will now sit Shiva.

I am not used to the Jewish customs and such and was wondering what is appropriate and what is not.

My husband and I would like to send something on behalf of ourselves. They are in New York and we are in Texas and unable to pay a Shiva call.

I believe we are supposed to send food. But what should we send? I know the first meal after the burial includes bread, hard boiled eggs, lentil and coffee/tea. It is also my understanding that Shiva does not actually start until after the burial.

I dont yet know when the burial would be and will probably be sending something today. So what should I send? What is acceptable to send before the Shiva? Or even during Shiva?

Theologians and philosophers have studied countless conceptions of God since the dawn of civilization.

Due to these conception there has also been many depictations and usages of God. From the early stages of God till today, God has changed many times. Not only in looks, but also in behaviour and agenda.

God has simply evolved from one point to another during many thousands of years.

How can people that belief in God, shun evolution, when their base of belief itself has evolved?

I would say I am 98% an Athiest.

Now, let's be clear on this. This DOES NOT mean that 2% of my thinks that:

* Heaven and Hell exists
* that Jesus or any other prophet could perform miracles
etc.,

But it means that 2% of me thinks in this way:

* Although Creationism in any scripture is totally absurd, there is a strageness to the origin of the universe that may indicate something outside of Nature. Of course, this may well be down to man's incomprehension of certain Quantum laws, that may mean that matter can spring into existence by perfectly natural means. This sounds impossible, but we know that it can and did happen by virtue of the observable universe.

* That there can be no evidence that God or a spititual 'entity' can 100% be disproven (stemming from Agnosticism)

And that's it. It's the origin of the Big Bang that has me thinking. Neither Religion or Science can provide a satisfactory explination.

********************

So what % of an Atheist are you?

Do you think God needs a break? People always asking him/her/its for petty things, killing in his/her/its name, him/her/its responding to so many names (that must be confusing...), people putting word and false meanings into God's words (most of which are not God's to begin with) - its all got to take a toll...

Or did God already take a walk and never came back... Is that why their are genocides, wars, crusades, and Nickleback.... Or is it hard to take a walk when you don't exist?

Ponder my fiends....

I do prefer to listen from people who have read his books, rather than from people who foolishily pick wrong concepts about Him from wrong sources.

I say this because, there are people who have not yet read a single book about Him, but speak volumes against Him!!
