Theologians and philosophers have studied countless conceptions of God since the dawn of civilization.

Due to these conception there has also been many depictations and usages of God. From the early stages of God till today, God has changed many times. Not only in looks, but also in behaviour and agenda.

God has simply evolved from one point to another during many thousands of years.

How can people that belief in God, shun evolution, when their base of belief itself has evolved?

religious people in general and christians in particular, abhor the idea that their god has been subject to the same laws of evolution as every other thing in this universe. they simply cannot deal with this reality and so, dismiss it as if it were not there...the facts and evidence for evolution are irrefutable and undeniable. but that won't stop people of "faith" from not seeing what is right in front of them.

One has to question whether the foundation of their belief has changed... or if man's understanding of that foundation has changed. Those are two completely different matters. The nature of God, in both instances, is completely independent of man's understanding, but I would be inclined to believe that our understanding of God is what has changed... much as our understanding of science, astrology, biology and everything else has change.

What do I mean? Has the shape of the world changed in the last 1000 years or so? How about the last 500 years? No! Our understanding has. We once taught that the world was flat, we taught that the universe revolved around the earth, then we realized that we were wrong.

Much the Same with God.... there's no variance in him, not even a shadow of turning, But as man pursues to understand the nature of God our understanding of God evolves.

Your argument is based on peoples conceptions of GOD?
The same people who insisted the world was first the center of the universe then the world was flat(even though the bible explained the world to be a sphere long before that) then pollute the world so that you can't even eat the fish you catch at the lake because they're are polluted with mercury and other crap and then threaten the worlds existence with nuclear technology?
GOD hasn't and will never change. Scientists on the other hand can't make up their mind i.e. eggs are good for you then eggs are bad for you then eggs are good for you again...
Please!!

The dawn of civilization kept many gods...there has only ever been the ONE true God which brought mankind out of a paganistic journey toward the ultimate creator of all things. He has never changed. His dealings with us have never changed. His laws have never changed. It is only our understanding that has changed and that near/far casting prophecy of One God to one man, then to a people, then to a nation and then to the World which leads back to One God to one man (person). Evolution isn't depiction or definition or discernment...it is change from one form into another. He has never changed except to become more defined, more dicerned and depicted by our own imaginations...something He urges us not to do. Your theory is flawed. Love in Christ, ~J~

Evolution in belief and physical evolution are nowhere near the same thing. However, it is a good point. I've always wondered why the idea of many Gods is mythology but modern religions are theology. It seems kind of screwy!

I heard a saying once, The more things change, the more things stay the same,

From your perspective it will 'appear' that God has changed many times in His agenda , looks behavior ect. ect.

But this breaks down after closer examination, even in Jesus Times, there were 'stoics' or what is now known today as modern day philosphers, there way of thinking and today's has not changed, variations on a theme at best.

Sadducees are an example, of things that have changed but stayed the same, in Jesus time, the sadduces were a fundamentalist conservative group that adhered to legalism and a strict adherence to the law of Moses, they had a lot of head knowledge of God, but no heart knowledge (sound familiar) we see this today,
Pharisees are very much like them but violently opposed to one another, another example of the way things has changed but stayed the same, we see this today,

You see, the philosophy's that existed then and now have not changed, or 'evolved' as you put it, only the way's and methods used to convey "the same old thing" has changed.

The behavior and agenda of God has not changed, God said

In Hebrews 13;8 8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever

Human perception of God has changed as human awareness has changed. That which is represented in language as the word God never changes. The word God represents that which is beyond, behind and supporting the world of human understanding.

God is the same today, yesterday, and forever. He never changes. There are some questions that are impossible to answer, that will be answered when one dies. No one can know anything about God except what God has let His prophets write about Him. There is no evolution, of earth, or God. God has always been and will always be. That's why He's God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God.

No evolving, no changing, eternal today, tomorrow, forever.

Because everyone loves to get a belief, and never change what they think. Change is too difficult, it often involves admitting we were wrong, our thinking is in error, we don't know everything, and the biggest threat to the ego, we are not who we think we are.
