Born catholic? Now that's immature for somebody who's gonna be a father.
You were born into a catholic family, not born a catholic.
Are you sure you're ready to start your own family?

You were born. Your parents apparently baptized you Catholic and then neglected to raise you in the faith, so that you are now left not understanding what it means to be Catholic.

You should take a free class at your nearest Catholic parish called RCIA. This will explain to you what it means to be Catholic. When you finish the class, you can decide whether or not you want to be confirmed Catholic, and whether or not you want to raise your child(ren) Catholic.

You were born without religious affiliation as your son will be.
You maybe have been raised a Catholic by your parents.
Your child should be raised as you see fit. As you seem not to know what you believe perhaps you should go to the nearest Christian fellowship and start asking questions so you may learn what it is you will decide to teach your son.

Are you still catholic? If you are, then your kids will more than likely be born catholic. If you aren't catholic, then they will be born as what ever you are, until they are old enough to make their own decision.

would love to know how you were born catholic.....you can be born into a family of catholics....but you are not born one. Religion is a choice, not something you are born. so no, your son will only be born.....the choice of religion be it christianity or whatever else should be his choice and no one elses.

no one is born into any religion...however if your parents were of a particular religion you have a likely hood you will follow them depending on the parents experience with that religion

ie if your mum and dad where catholic they obviously liked it enough to baptis you into that religion however if you have found it not to your liking you have the choice not to baptis your child therefore your child wont become a catholic

you are free to chose any religion it all depends on your personal preference...

best thing to do i can advise would be wait and as your child learns about the religions or even better teach them about the religions...let them make their own decision about what they wish to be....

hope that is of some help

One is not born a religion they are christened into it, I have two grown up sons and I did not get them christened as I think it is not for me to tell them what religion they should belong to or believe in, we are all individuals and should have free choice, to me it up to the person when they are old enough to understand what it is all about to make their own choice. Just bring them up with open hearts and open minds and a good set of decent morals and standards to live by.

People are not born belonging to a religion. Your son will be born Atheist and hopefully allowed to choose which (if any) religion he wants to follow.
