Are Christians and Catholics allowed to watch Harry Potter?
Doesnt it sort of suggest that Withes and Wizards which has always been condemned by their churches can exsist?
Before people start to say "its only a film" can I just point out the Bible is just a book to some people.
Surely watching things that are not allowed by your religion is a sin..no????

If you were the Gods or Godesses to be honored, what food would you want to be presented at your alter.
Me, I think it would have to be chocolate, olives (pitted of course), and a nice salad with shrimp sauce.
Also, what smell or incense would you most likely prefer and what type of music would you have played.

Remember everyone - this is just for fun. I am not making fun of our beliefs.

2 Tim 3:1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.

We always hear about Muslim women covering up and I think most people know there is mention of covering in the Bible also.

So what do you think? Should a woman cover herself? How and why?

Thank you.

I imagine that the rest of the world sees the UK as a fading power stuck in its own self-promoted importance.

Harsh or pretty near the mark?

What about yours?

Lets all try to be diplomatic!

The fact you do not believe in a higher being is not a reason, because you still have the belief there is NO God...so it's still a belief system.

Also, most(if not all) Atheists believe in Evolution, so that could also be a belief system for the religion...

It's considered a reigion by the US Supreme Court...why not just come up with a unified statement like "Atheists believe in Evolution and that there is no God and that Christians are stupid."?

Then you can all stand together with one voice...I think it would be a great rally call for Atheists, that way they can talk to people who have the same beliefs, or non-beliefs, and don't have to worry about us fundies always getting on to them about how they're going to burn in Hell and we wont be able to force our belief on you...hmmmmm....

If, (and lets just say 'if' for the sake of this question), every cow on this planet broke wind, let rip, farted, bottom burped, simultaneously, would the build up of methane gas cause an explosion if a naked flame was introduced to the equation?

Because I'm definitely critical of some gods more than others...

Not that I am against the followers of any gods or want to tell people what to believe. But I'm much more critical of the Abrahamic god (as described in the Bible) than I am of the Hindu or Pagan gods. (Some of whom I actually like and respect, even if I think they are just stories/archetypes.)

Is it literary bias or do I need to go back ot Atheist Bootcamp?

coins, chariots, horses, white people, black people, huge battles, all of those real events right? large events supported by large cities right? and gold plates burried right? a few paper afidavits and that's it right? What's the spin, what's the hope. Who's sweating this one, whos working overtime to make sure the Book of Mormon doesn't become a comic book. For real...I'm not perfect. I'm just a person asking for answers the best way I know how.

Havent you seen what he can do already? Earth is a taste of hell in my eyes, or where I live is anyway. With all that's going on, don't you think you should turn to God? I have fear of no man, why fear something that can bleed and die the same way I can? People need to get right already. Sh!t gets realer than it seems. Once you stop relying on the world, you will see clearly and not ask for complicated evidence of what is. People look to worldly things for comfort and safety; drugs, sex, and t.v.
After that, it all goes right back down hill, faster than before. I think we can all agree that earth isn't a perfect place, but I hear some people still say they want to go to hell. Wow, do you think it's fun there? Ha, sure, Satan is our friend, right? Why do people object so hard to my religiouse ways instead of looking from both angles? God did say that we would be ashamed of him when we look to the world. O'h am I talking crazy,so it's just me and the world is perfect with no end to it?

I say a report that shows that managers are less likely even in this day and age to call someone for an interview with an ethnic name. They sometimes don't even look at the resume they just put it to the bottom of the pile. When I was in college I knew some of the international student, Asian, African etc who legally changed their name to more American names for just this reason. I think this just shows how far we still have to come in America before everyone is truly equal.

A friend employed in a public school in the midwestern US recieved this in an email today:

Staff,
As you discuss our upcoming holiday just want you to be aware that some of our community members are VERY sensitive to the word HALLOWEEN. Thus we have refered to this day as our Fall Festival and steer clear of witches, and other demonic figures - pumpkins and bales of hay still seem to be ok. Just wanted to give you a heads up to save you ........the scare! :) If you have a student that expresses that they can not participate in Halloween please let's forward that information to Paula who can work with the other speciailists in forming our routine "alternate activity" Thanks specialists! :)
