How could anyone love the person who is abusing their baby?

That was the whole point of my earlier post about abusers. Suddenly, everyone could see how sick it is to love that person. It's disgusting and betrayal.

The Father is God: Peter refers to the saints "who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father "
1 Peter 1:2

Jesus is God: When Jesus made a post-resurrection appearance to doubting Thomas, Thomas said "My Lord and my God" John 20:28. The Heavenly Father said of His Son Jesus, " Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom" Hebrews 1:8

The Holy Spirit is God: In Acts 5:3,4, Peter said to Ananias, " How is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit?" Lying to the Holy Spirit is equated with lying to God.

There are so many churches that either teach that is not for today and others teach that Christian women should cover their heads for prayer or prophesying. So what are your convictions on this subject?

These questions are for everyone to think about without spreading judgement or criticism. I am not perfect nor am I better than any of you, but these are some questions that bothers me as a christian and should bother you too. I ran across something to today that brought all these thoughts to mind again.

Why do most American Christians look at God's grace as being cheap compared to other countries?

Why do most say that because we are "free by God's grace" that we are allowed to do whatever we want?

When someone is deeply following God , some believe the person is "over doing" it because they aren't watching certain movies and studying the bible more?

Should a person continue practicing lawlessness just because they are free? Just because Jesus died for our sins, should we continue to nail him to the cross again and again and again?

Shouldn't Matthew 7:21 be considered and looked at always?

Why is that when a person studies the bible, stop certain activities, renew their mind and spirit and become devoted they are considered "radical christians" in the states, but people overseas who become christians despite their countries belief, risk persecution each and everyday for their faith?

If the US is built on christian beliefs and principles, why is there every effort in the book to stop the use of talking about our Heavenly Father whenever and wherever we go?

To me morals are just common sense. I do not need a religion or a god to tell me what is right and what is wrong. I know it in my heart. So why do people keep asking where we get our morals from? Do they really think that only religion and God can teach you good/bad?

it's the same concept of playing God...it's just not right to inflict physical pain on another human - human's don't have the right to hurt others, even as a punishment for them having hurt someone else

You trapped in a no win situation. A natural occurance has put in a place where you have no way out. There is a 99% chance you are going to die. Where do you get the hope or faith to go on? I do not want to hear about survival insticts that all animals (including humans) have. In a desprate situation we all something that keeps us going I want to know what it is.

religious texts that allegedly prophesied such events past, present, and/or near future?

These "prophesies" are nothing more then statistical probabilities that come from experience, evaluation, guess work, assumption, and, mostly, plain old chance. If I were to prophesied something without giving an exact date, the chances of it happening at some point is astronomically in my favor.Does that make me a prophet who got my information from God?

Is it possible to have a set of moral values but not be religious? For example, much of the time I don't feel religious (God, heaven and Hell are too hard to believe in) but I still feel like I have a set of moral values. I almost never usually cheat or steal, and I would only kill someone in war or extreme circumstances. And if I do cheat or steal I always feel bad about it (can't yet imagine what it would feel like to kill someone, I imagine not very nice). Does this make me religious?

PS: Please don't post answers telling me to go to church or start praying or anything like that. I'm only interested in your opinion regarding the relations between moral values and religion.

Some of the most brilliant people were Christians, so many beautiful people have dedicated their lives to him, and so have I. I was born again over a year ago after Jesus answered my prayers and healed my broken heart. I was lost, depressed and addicted to substances to dull the pain.

Jesus brings joy and meaning into life. He's more then I had ever imagined, the way Christians and society portrayed him to me just never gave me any understanding of who he really is. Every day I seek his face and learn more about him.

I even knew ghosts and magic was real, and yet I couldn't relate that information back to Jesus' spirit still being here, and how I'm actually also a spirit. Read his words, they're alive!

I'm an Atheist, but I think Vonnegut was one the wisest people who lived in our century. I mean, Jesus inspired this huge following and he didn't seem half as wise or talented as Kurt.
Just read some of these quotes and you can understand what I mean:

So what do you think, good idea or not?

Mormon?

If you want to call it a cult...go ahead, you'll get 2 points out of it atleast...

But I mean, besides being a member of the LDS church, or Joseph Smith and that stuff...what do you see as a Mormon?

Example...when I think of Emo, I think someone dressing in black with wristbands, band tees, girl pants, and converse shoes, with fishnet gloves to cover the scratches and tons of peircings...

So using that as an example...what do you see a Mormon as?
