Mormon?

If you want to call it a cult...go ahead, you'll get 2 points out of it atleast...

But I mean, besides being a member of the LDS church, or Joseph Smith and that stuff...what do you see as a Mormon?

Example...when I think of Emo, I think someone dressing in black with wristbands, band tees, girl pants, and converse shoes, with fishnet gloves to cover the scratches and tons of peircings...

So using that as an example...what do you see a Mormon as?

I think that the men are always dressed in suits and wear nametags. They seem very pleasant to me when I tell them that I have found a path that I am comfortable with.

Individually the Mormons rank very high on the "good witness" meter. On the other hand, I don't like their "elders" knocking on my door. Intellectually, they're in the top 3 made up religions - the other two being Islam and Bahia. Personally I don't care for them patterning their rituals after Masonic rituals - seems that a religion should have their own without copying.

I try to reserve "cult" for the newer breed of mind-controlling, money grabbing, dangerous ones. But from a fundament view point a case could be made for them being a cult.

When I hear the word "Mormon" I think of a group of people who know their stuff as well as most Christians should and probably wish they did.

And I feel sorry for them that they are so miscued. but that is just what I think.

Well the thought that comes to my mind is a person who looks like a Indian who is in hell trying to figure out how he got there. LOL But that was not what I thought before I joined. I sort of thought of a gray haired man who was in hell because his many wives didn't get along. LOL

Although Mormons are usually friendly, loving, and kind people - they are involved in a false religion that distorts the nature of God, the Person of Jesus Christ, and the means of salvation.

I think of teeth. Big, white shiny teeth.
I think of the Osmonds. I think of nice people without too many vices, living happily with their big, successful families ;o)

When I think Mormon, I think...Mitt (Mittens...he's a kitten!) Romney, whose real name is Willard, and has a horrible campaign platform.

I also think of Warren Jeffs, who thankfully was found guilty.

Basically, I think very little of Mormons, and the media do a good job of reinforcing my slant.
