The law of is forever and no ending except those which were renewed by Jesus like the eating of unclean foods which cleansed by Jesus Christ himself.
And for your information, the law of God regarding the headcovering while in prayers is in the New Testament which is not address to the people of Isrtael but to the whole women mankind. the covering is not the cloth over the head of a woman but on the long hair of a woman.

No. I look horrible in hats, with the exception of the occassional newsboy style hat.
When we look at many of the exhortations of Paul to the first century Christians, it is important to understand the customs and manners of the times. During Paul's time, there were many pagan women who were promoting a form of "women's lib" that was considered to be disrespectful to the headship and authority of the husband in the household. Many of the exhortations that Paul gave to Christian women were an attempt to set them apart from these pagan practices, so that Christianity would have something different and purer to offer the potential convert.
When you think of it, there are things we do like this today. As a modern day example: who ever said that certain words that are commonly used today were considered vulger swear words? Nowhere in Scripture are the words that are considered swear words today, condemned. But, Christians refrain from using these words nonetheless, so that we are not considered to have the same low morals of the world in general. What Paul was doing was along the same lines.

In today's culture, we no longer view a woman's wearing of a head covering as a sign of submission. In most modern societies, scarves and hats are fashion accessories. A woman has the choice to wear a head covering if she views it as a sign of her submission to the authority of her husband. However, it is a personal choice and not something that should be used to judge spirituality. The real issue here is the heart attitude of obedience to God's authority and submission to His established order “as to the LORD” (Ephesians 5:22). God is far more concerned with an attitude of submission than an outward display of submission via a head covering. First Timothy 2:9-10, "I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."

From the middle eastern religions/area, the head covers (Length dependent on area as well as sect) were a practical piece of clothing. Thk about it, there were woman living and WORKING in a desert community. SUN and SAND. Hheheeee Have ya ever gotten ALOT of sand in your hair--then tried getting it out?!?
Culture was also an issue, in a SUN climate, it bakes the skin. Pampered women would have pale skin-either from being covered or not being outside.
One of the earliest scriptural stories dealt with some 'angels' becoming entralled with the beauty of women's hair, came down from heaven to seduce them, thus producing the Nephilim. In many earlier sects, head covering wear worn by righteous women. Since in many of the pagani sects the temple 'virgins' or priestesses would have their hair free.
For many Christian women, the biblical icons of womanhood are rather limited---eve, ruth, naomi, mary the mother, mary the wife/prostitute. In many of the none biblical scriptures, there were several others that presented woman in a more of an equal role with men.
One example would be Adam's first wife, Lilith. She was the one created on the 6th day at the same time with adam from the same dust. When she wouldn't be 'dominated' by Adam, she left him. Which saddened Adam, so then god create Eve from Adam so she would be subservient to him. There are some women today that ARE the daughters of Eve and then their are the daughters of Lilith.
Another example would be Thecla. http://www.bookrags.com/Acts_of_Paul_and_Thecla
She was a follower/disciple of Paul. When Paul would not 'baptise' her, she 'baptised' herself by the hand of god---in a shark tank with a bolt of lightning.
Many such women didn't make it into the bible or into the philosophy since they didn't portray women as the ORTHODOXY wanted them to be portrayed. Did ya know that Mary Magdeline wasn't depicted as a prostitute until the 5th century? In many other scriptures, she was a wife and disciple to jesus.
For the modern age, it would depend upon the traditions and/or covanent that the woman has with their god(s). From a biblical standpoint, Deut 23:21-23 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin. But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty. Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.
Does covering your head make you more 'righteous'---some will say yes---so wear them; some will say no---so don't. Be yourself and cultivate your own personal relationship with the Divine.

The covering of the head was a practice of the old belief and order of the "Catholic" church then, when vatican II came about it was realized that this did not have to be. I don't know what the traditions of the other faiths are, but I think they also have come to the realization that you don't have to have your head covered to vist and worship God. Amish, Mennonites, and Quakers on the other hand have both men and women covered from head to toe, so there you are. I apologize I am not a woman, but I couldn't help but get in on this one.

This has nothing to do with the Old Testament law..
It is covered in 1 Cor. 11 and plainly states that a woman's long hair is her head covering.. If you don't have long hair, then it is another matter. Obey the teaching then.

1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.
This is the verse that people use for the covering of the head. However, read it, it says, "her hair is given to her for a covering."
Paul was writing to the Corinthians about hair because women who had short hair were prostitutes. So, he was telling them that they needed to keep their hair long.
Most of the time I pull my hair back into a bun when we go out, or put it in a clip. I had a friend tell me one time, "I have never seen you with your hair down, you should wear it down more often."

Christian women today are free to be what they are. I do support modesty in dress. I often wear a hat because I simply like them. Also, I braid my hair to keep it out of my face and out of my way. I think the point is to not call undue attention to ourselves. In modern times, that still gives us a lot of leeway! You can not tell the heart of a woman by her clothing, the point is to not dress contrarily to what your Christian heart is...........
