A few people have told me that jesus died for our sins, and that his death and pain compensated for our sins, and that if it weren't for him being sacrificed that we would all be sent to hell. However, I believe that this is not consistent with a loving and compassionate god. I think that god judges us based on who we are and who we intend to be, not based on who we were or who we have been. I think he forgives people who truely and honestly regret the bad things they have done, and he forgives things that we have done wrong as long as we didnt have the intention of doing wrong, and that even those who have intended to do wrong can still be forgiven just as so long as they are really sorry for what they've done and dont intend to do it again. I don't think god requires a sacrifice to make up for our sins, because if that is so, then that is not true forgiveness. Its compensation. Its not letting it go. Its putting a price for what we've done. Will I go to hell for thinking this way
