Isn't that contradictory to a severe extreme? They're both mutually exclusive--neither can be true at the same time unless you're living in Oceania using Doublethink.

Either:

God is unconditionally loving, merciful, and there is no Hell...

OR

...God isn't TRULY loving, merciful, and forgiving. How can ANYBODY be those three traits and allow someone to be eternally tortured?

Which do you believe?

Before you answer, consider this:

Whatever religion you believe, you cannot deny that Christianity has the largest following at 30% of the world, 1.5 billion strong. If we believe what certain Christians say and that everyone who isn't Christian is Hellbound, then 4.5 Billion are going to Hell. If we believe other Christians, then Catholics are gone too--so now we're down to approximately 750 million. If we believe followers of other major world religions that believe in damnation, even more are going to Hell.

If one writes a companion book explaining parts of the Bible is that adding to it?
If the Bible is retranslated and it reads differently than the last translation is that adding and subtracting to the Bible?
Because you find the same phrase in Deuteronomy http://scriptures.lds.org/en/deut/4/2#2 is everything after it a blasphemic addition?

This is a question about logic not rhetoric -- Please answer the question and support your logic. (of course you can do what you want but you might be ignored)

Will you please state which translation of the Bible you read and/or believe is the most correct translation?

I am a Mormon and I know what some of you think about the Book of Mormon so you can ignore it for this question so you can expound your logic on the question.

Again I plead for serious logical answers – thanks

In Revelations 19:10, 11 we read, "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."

Jesus is the essence of FAITH. He is the only One who is Faithful. In Mark 4:40 the Bible states, "And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?"

In Matthew 17:20 we read, "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

Notice that God says, "If ye had faith...." suggesting that unsaved man has no saving faith, ie., no Christ.

There's clearly some kind of conspiracy shown by the answers to my question. Like "how can we as mere humans answer anything about anything, humans are imperfect but God is perfect!" or "scientists are being bullied to what other older scientists believe" or "the scientific method is flawed, but I don't know why!"

Christ?? The reason I ask this is because we read in 2 Chronicles 6:41 we read, "Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness."

In Psalm 132:9 we read, "Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy."

In Isaih 61:10 we read, "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels."

The pill was not available, unmarried women were ostracized from society, made to quit school, and there were few occupational avenues for women that would allow them to support a child alone. Abortions were illegal.
Brenda killed herself and her unborn baby.
Things are much different today and most unwanted pregnancies can be avoided. But shouldn't abortion be an option?
