Nothing special planned yet. A friend ( fellow pagan) and I usually try to go to a favorite park. We may light a candle and have a brief ceremony while enjoying the fresh air and scenery.

The Asatru don't really celebrate Mabon, but a very old festival of this time is the brewing harvest honoring Sif, the wife of Thor and goddess of brewing. A lot of the traditions are continued in the various Oktoberfest celebrations so common at this time of year. It is also the time of the nut-gathering.

I'm making a harvest dinner featuring roast duck and red wine, and making a new dish for me, a French style apple tart. I'm also making blueberry muffins in the morning. I will wear fall colors and my pentacle.

It's finally starting to cool down, I am really hoping to be able to take the kids out to the park for a while.

We're having a ritual at our house. I'm focusing on the balance between light and dark at this time of year. Afterward we'll have a feast featuring my husband's homemade corn chowder. Yum!
