Nothing special planned yet. A friend ( fellow pagan) and I usually try to go to a favorite park. We may light a candle and have a brief ceremony while enjoying the fresh air and scenery.

The Asatru don't really celebrate Mabon, but a very old festival of this time is the brewing harvest honoring Sif, the wife of Thor and goddess of brewing. A lot of the traditions are continued in the various Oktoberfest celebrations so common at this time of year. It is also the time of the nut-gathering.

Well there's actually a student picnic thing I have to go to on Mabon eve, so that really takes care of the celebratory feast aspect... maybe I'll do a ritual. I haven't done one is a while.

Hellenic Recons don't use the Wheel of the Year and the eight Sabbats that many other Pagans use, but I will be doing something for the festival surrounding the Eleusian Mysteries the following week........

I see Lughnasah as a occasion of the top of summer season -- it particularly is the 1st harvest; an incredible time to decrease herbs. i'm going to be choosing squash and eating sparkling peppermint tea from my vegetation and understanding this 365 days Lugh is an exceedingly powerful guy -- it fairly is a a hundred tiers right here in the present day. Hail Lugh, Son of the solar!

I'm making a harvest dinner featuring roast duck and red wine, and making a new dish for me, a French style apple tart. I'm also making blueberry muffins in the morning. I will wear fall colors and my pentacle.
It's finally starting to cool down, I am really hoping to be able to take the kids out to the park for a while.

We're having a ritual at our house. I'm focusing on the balance between light and dark at this time of year. Afterward we'll have a feast featuring my husband's homemade corn chowder. Yum!

Yes we are going into the mountains Sunday to give our offerings, collect pinecones, plant trees in recently burned areas, and have a beautiful picnic.
