I think that they should avoid having sex until the younger is past the age of consent, and use that time to cement the friendship part of the relationship. I think that they should be careful, and wait until adulthood before revealing the sexual relationship. If they think that it's going to be too much of a strain to protect the relationship by keeping it a secret, then perhaps they should take a break from each other until they can feel more free to have a relationship and face the world, despite its prejudices. It might seem odd to condone a relationship like that, but if there is no coercion, I really see no problem as long as the girl is well into puberty, which she is by 15.

I don't know about immoral but I think it is a little wrong. A 15 year old and a 23 year old are very different people regardless of how mature the 15 year old is or how possibly immature the 23 year old is. If the 23 year old really loves the 15 year old, she can wait a few years. 15 is very young.

Personally, and I don't know how I can explain this, it would bother me more if it was a 23 year old man with a 15 year old girl. I guess I have this funky mind set that a man would be more prone to manipulate a young girl than a woman - sorry my brothers. Although this is most definitely prejudice on my part.

Still, either way, I think they should be close friends but wait a while on the intimacy.

Absolutely! Not only immoral, but illegal! There is no such thing as a "very mature" 15yr old. That is a child. Stay away if you are 18 or over. If the girl still loves you at 18, then talk to her. Before that leave it alone, IT'S JAIL-BAIT!!!! I feel the same way regardless of the sex of the two people. 15 is NOT an adult, and 8 years makes a world of difference. The person being 23 should not even be asking this question. The 23 year old IS SUPPOSED to be the adult. DON'T GO THERE MICHAEL!!

I don't think a 15 year old girl is emotionally ready for a complex relationship with either a grown man or a grown woman. I have to wonder at a 23 year old man or woman who would want to be involved with a girl that age, no matter how mature she is. She's still going to be very innocent and naive and just not on the same level of life experiences. I would have the feeling that the 23 year old is taking advantage of the young girl based mostly on physical attraction.
The gender issue, as far as I'm concerned, is irrelevant.
A savvy, intelligent 23 year old should have the good sense to let the 15 year old grow up before encouraging this kind of relationship.

I think in both cases the age difference is too great, since 8 yrs at 15 is half that person's life time. It is perhaps somewhat more wrong for the relationship between both women- not because of any ill feelings towards lesbians, BUT because at 15, there might be some orientation issues that may not be fully resolved, and with an 8 year age difference, perhaps the teenager may put more weight on an older person's desires than a person of their own age.

At the age of 15, not quite right. However if you think about it, it used to be done with arranged marriages back in the olden days. These days, no. Although an 8 year difference when the youngest is like 19 or 20 isn't bad.

Alot of people are saying the age difference is a problem.
Is it wrong for a 35 year old to be with a 43 year old? NO
I would say as long as there is no sexual side to the relationship, it would be fine, the sexual side should wait until the 15 yeat old is older but other than that, it is fine.
I would answer the same for a same sex or different.

I think all that matters is that you have this 15 year old girls best interest in your heart. I was 15 when I had my first girlfriend, and she was 22, I was head over heels in love with her. Unfortunately, she was just head over heels in love with the idea of having a virgin !! I have to say, after she broke my heart at such a young age I still at times have trust issues because of her !!

Well.. I was 16 when I dated a 40 year old man, before I "came out", and yes, it was rather disgusting now that I think about it, even though I consented at the time. I was the same age as his oldest son.

No matter whether you think it's moral or not, it's still against the law and wrong. However, you can't help who you love.

As long as the minor is 15 or over, mature, and mentally stable, whatever floats your boat, just don't get caught.
