So you have this god that you claim is all-knowing right? You go to church every Sunday and probably every other day throughout the week. You need a miracle to overcome your cancer so you pray to god (as if he doesn't already know you need to be cured) for help in overcoming this cancer right? WHY? Isn't it enough for you to go to church every day? Isn't it enough for you to pay your offerings (I mean preacher) and tithes (I mean the rest of the preachers staff)?? And while I'm on the subject, do you think that if you food was somehow poisoned or whatever before you said grace over the food that it would than afterwards not be poisoned anymore?

A couple days ago a minister in training said his co-emcee (i was at a church concert) was supposed to be there but said he couldn't. So he prayed to god for him to find him a way there. Didn't god already know that he had to be there, why did he have to pray for him to get there? Seriously people, wake up.

If omnipresent means omnipresent, then the threat of a hell defined as eternal separation from said god is impossible.

Also, it is impossible for an omnipresent god to NOT be in someone's heart....or for it to not be in someone's life.

If you believe in an omnipresent god which must enter someone's heart, or believe in an omnipresent god with a hell, or believe that atheists don't have your god in them, could you explain this, if you feel inclined?

I'm neither an atheist nor a Christian, just curious.

Every religion has some strong points. Based on YOUR EXPERIENCE, what are some of good things that you like about Christianity or Christians that we Muslims can learn from?

There are so many things in this world that are proven to be totally chaotic and random or thatsound very unlikely, yet result in real, very ordered and beautiful outcomes. How can people see those, and not see that randomness is not abhorrent or destructive?
You want examples? OK...try these:
1. Snowflakes. These are chaotic...that's why you can never find two identical flakes (since the starting conditions are random for each flake). Yet; due to some very simple physical rules they all end up looking like snowflakes, and they're all beautiful.
2. The lottery. If the odds are a billion to one against, most religious people would say "You'd need a miracle to win - god would have to be involved somewhere".
I would say. "All you'd need for this to happen is a billion people...hardly a miracle".
The same with the universe. It can easily have been shaped through entirely random events..which may be incredibly unlikely to happen, but have had trillions of trillions of years to happen!

...debating his existence and saying Jesus is coming. It's such a waste of time to keep trying to force your views on others. Let people make their own mind up.

beta_fishy
Remember that when Adam and Eve unleashed sin and death into the world, they also allowed all of us to live on this Earth. Without that act, we could not gain bodies, learn and grow, and return to our Heavenly Father and become like Him.

We hope to become like our Heavenly Father and to inherit all that He has, as the scriptures promise.
Source(s):

The above was posted on answers a few minutes ago. What is said here is completely blasphemous. beta_fishy is saying the plan was for Adam and Eve to sin and take the fruit. That is so wrong and the Bible teaches no such thing and neither does the Book of Mormon. That is probably in your Pearl of great Price or Doctrine of Covenants. D of C was written by J Smith and other men. Don't go and preach that all the books complement each other because they clearly don't.

I recently went on vacation to Montana to visit my boyfriend's mother. (She is one of my best friends believe it or not!) Well, his aunt and uncle opened up there cabin to me for no charge. They took me all over, showed me things and really made me feel at home. I wanted to do something nice for them to show them my appreciation. I'm in New Jersey so I cannot get out there again in person until next year.

Is there anything I can do besides sending a thank you card?

Here's my question: What would make us that interesting to a super intelligent, super advanced being? Would YOU want to contact us?

We all know that our universe is so expansive that we haven't even scratched the surface of what has yet to be discovered.

For lack of a better word, my "beef" with atheists is that despite knowing that there's simply a lot that we don't know, how are they so quick to discount the existence of God?

Lee Strobel wrote a book called The Case for Christ that if you're willing, I hope you'll at least pick up and glance at.

A lot of the questions and answers I've seen in this section are dealt with in that book as well.

So if we're so hungry to learn more about our universe, if you can take a few hours and focus that energy on learning more about why so many millions of intelligent people believe in God, won't you at least be doing yourself a favor? By doing so, you can either be more sure of your own beliefs, or at least open your mind to the possibility that God exists.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to indulge me and my questions and given a response.

Why is it so many people cannot write properly on YA? Is it because they are just lazy or are people really that stupid/ill-educated?

I usually don't bother with capital letters, but I at least write properly. What's with all the spelling/punctuation/grammar errors? Sometimes I don't even know what the question is because it's so badly written.
