During the times of the old covenant, God certainly used natural disasters to punish people's rebellion and sins.
After Jesus died, we entered an age of grace, where God took a hand's off regarding punishing people via natural disasters.
However, now we are at the end of the age of grace, and transitioning toward judgment - and the Great Tribulation.
The planet is preparing to respond to centuries of sin enacted on it, and it will involve many natural disasters: Earthquakes, hurricanes, and such (as told by Jesus as a "sign of the times").
Lastly, the Bible is clear that Satan is here to "steal, kill and destroy".
The answer is not an easy one to discern. I can say this with certainty, where there is a "disaster", believers can pray for guidance on how to avoid them. There are many accounts of believers that were "stopped" from going to the World Trade Centers on the day of the attacks on 9-11. There are other stories where many were delivered from flood waters in Katrina on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
One thing is for sure: Now, more than ever, it is important for the believer to listen to the guidance from the Holy Spirit to warn them how to avoid being killed or maimed in a pending natural disaster.

Jesus said it was going to be this way.
I think scientifically that the earth is doing what its suppose to do. And the global warming thing does not help.
We were to take care of the world -one of the first commandment God gave to Adam.
Its like going to the woods and get mad at the mosquitoes or other critters are there well you came to their habitat.
We are in a world that has these sorts of things we just have to know how to withstand the disasters.
Maybe God and Satan both have there own agenda with the disasters.
Yes, I do believe there will be more healing and revivals but some that we think are strong believers will turn away. That is what the Bible says anyway.

I don't know. But if you have ever lived through a national disaster, ( I have been in Three...)

You will see that more people turn towards God than away from him. More people become saved during these tragedys. God will use horrible events to bring us closer to him. I mean if you have lost everything, what do you have too lose by relying on the Lord Jesus Christ.
May we give Glory to God during not only good times but the bad ones as well.

It is a combination of all three, sometimes we think it was the devil and in reality it is God, who has a master plan for all of our lives and most of it we will never figure out.
