Everyone says stuff like, "The Graveyard's haunted by ghosts at night." Isn't it supposed to be a place of rest where the dead people go to get some peace? And according to ghost stories, if someone has "unfinished business" they normally haunt that person or place, not the location their dead body gets taken to. So how can graveyards be haunted if people are at rest?

if you're an american, please don't get mad. this is just an observation based on facts.

many americans (or even those who are not but grew up in u.s.) are very indipendent. it may be good.. but it seems too early.. i mean at the age 18(?) they move out of their parents house already. how come? can't they stay? is it the child's will to move out or is it a against the law to stay with your parents even if you 're already 18?

i don't understand. plus..many engages in premarital sex. and they even feel so proud about it. but we do all know that it is morally wrong. don't the u.s. gov't do anything about it?

how come diversity is so dominant.. i mean example in disney's high school musical, troy is so afraid to sing because of what others might think..(what's wrong with singing?) or nerds are bullied...

being different. such sin to be different.

it makes me fearful to live there. it maybe shining in glory.. but there are corners rotting inside...

And if you say no that God granted him the foresight or wisdom to do it, is it only because the bible says so?
Why do you say that psychics are evil? When foretelling the future was glorified in the bible when Joseph listened to God?
Who is to judge that Psychics of today dont listen to that same voice?

He appears to be less popular than OJ ever was, and the OJ case involved the death of humans rather than dogs.

If there is a god, he should already know why I don't believe. He should be able to see inside my mind, and inside my heart, and see that I'm not a bad guy at all. I'm just a simple human being who sees millions of other simple human beings all telling a different story. None of them can agree on anything, and none of them can give me any solid reason to believe their story is more valid than anyone else's story.

God would already understand this, wouldn't he? And if he were a loving god, he wouldn't hold it against me for doing the best I could with what I had.

It's you, the simple human being, who doesn't understand me. It's you who asks me to explain myself, not god. And so I have explained myself, right now, in the best way I could, and if you still don't understand me, there's nothing more I can say about that.

Let them know you don't really care because one thing Americans are good at is acknowleging our own faults.

But lets face it guys, as a rule, we really smell better than you guys. Your getting better at being clean, but every once and a while I get a wiff of a Euro whose body oder would knock a vulture of a turd wagon.

(meant only as a rebuttal to the question of how to annoy an American)

Many christians say that they believe in the afterlife because "there has to be more to life than this". On the other hand, many athiests say that they are happy with life, and don't want to live forever.
Why the difference?

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:7-11

John the baptist seemed a little bemused when Jesus asked John to baptize him. It makes sense, because Jesus was the true son of God- whereas John the baptist was basically a "regular" man (although he was important, as well).

So why did Jesus ask John to baptize him?

And, did this baptism take place in the river Jordan?

Thank you.

Praise the Lord! : )

I grew up in a Pagan household, with my step-father following an essentially druidic path and my mother being more into hedgewitchery. I'm interested in researching some of the other pagan paths - can anyone explain some to me, or provide names or links for further research?

Thanx!
