A little bit of religion never hurt anyone, as long as it's not being forced down your throat nor a Cult religion or portraying false gods. ;-)
Taught but not exposed, you set the good example and let them judge for their own self in due time.
I believe young or old, better late then never is my motto.
Have a good day Zim :)
Show me the way, open my heart, give me the trust and good guidance, and then and only then I will follow the right path...

I am a Christian teacher of the manuscripts; my students learn all three Biblical languages, history, knowledge and understanding of idioms/figures of speech,
and are taught directly from the manuscripts themselves.
I have students ages 7 and 8 years of age
who could run rings around most pastors
or preachers you see on the tv set on
Sunday morning - and without breaking a sweat.
I am non-denominational, and do not bother with any of the "religions" or Church systems. What I teach is the emphatic Word of God, and nothing else. It doesn't matter worth a damn what some preacher has to say: what matters is what God has to say. Thats what Children need to know,
and as they grow they make their own decisions in life just as we all do. Every soul has to sail their own ship, and knowledge
of God directs them toward Him. They always have the right to reject His Word,
but you will find that many do not because of God, but because of some nonsense
church system and traditions of men that only make void the Word of God.
God doesn't like the religions nor is He all too happy with the Churches. Those who
oppose religion and oppose the Churches should know that you and God have something in common, because He would
agree with many of your arguments, and he states it throughout scripture, over and over and over again. Maybe this is why so many Churches do not teach from Gods Word;
because it would show them for what they are: "houses of nothing"., and God states
He isn't there.

Yes religion could taught them some moral stadards; and when they grew up they will make up their choices if they stay religious or not. I have grew up in a very religious home but when I became independent I didnt practise religion anymore. But still deep down me I kept the best part of it basics such as respect, humility, self control, and many more other values. One thing that's not good in other religious people is to believe that other people's beliefs are crash and they are the only one with the truth. Then I would say never send your child in those arrogant people.

As education, they should be exposed to all religions. Education is a good thing. Then, when they are teenagers (maybe 16 or so), they should be allowed to make their own decision on which religion (or none) they wish to be a part of (or not).

They need foundation, and being exposed is their parents #1 chore in their life, is to give their child the basis of religion. Religion give a child a moral guide to not only the do's and don't in life, but give them a light on good and evil things about what they should and should not do..

If the subject comes up, and they are curious and interested, then giving them factual information of what the different religions believe is good. Especially to teach them tolerance of other children who have different holidays and religions. It's showing a little respect for each other, and diversity.
To shove it down their throat, no.

Grabbing kids and filling their heads full of theological ideas is too heavy for a young mind. And "using" your children to "recruit" new members to you church is reprehensible.
It's like sex education. They don't want or need to know ALL about the sex organs and their functions plus STD's and what affect they have on the body. Little kids don't need to know how to insert a diaphragm or how to put on and dispose of a condom. IT'S TOO MUCH FOR THEM at a young age!
I allowed my daughter to skip religious education until she was old enough to ask questions. Then, I'm there if she needs my point of view.
But that's just my POV.

I really don't see the problem with teaching religion in schools as long as it is from a neutral view and they cover all of the major religions like they do in the UK.

seriously it really depends on the situation.
there 2 kind of parents , the first type is the psycho brainwashed type.
their purpose is to get all their child into the same religion because they are afraid of their pastor scolding them or that their relative will look down on them.
this type of purpose of exposure is definitely wrong and will surely screw up the kid when they discover it.
the 2nd type of parent are out of love , they are afraid of that their child will burn in hell if they arent expose. so therefore they try to get their children to be join the religion. the parents might even be an atheist but because they care about the child , they try to get the child to join the religion JUST in case.
this kind of exposure , is soemwhat right . the kid will not blame their parent if they discover the purpose of the exposure when they are older.

just as a parent,I have taken my children with me to church since they were little tykes.I go to a nondenominational church, more my speed, just a regular crowd of non stuffed shirts.
I don't force them to go,they like it,and it gives them a good basic knowledge of God,or a power greater than themselves if you will.If they choose to go elsewhere as they grow and learn,so be it.I don't believe it has done anything but good as well as keep the doors open for discussions and questions.
I believe all religion and spirituality are real and valid.
