Robert Hall and Red Barn were in my old hometown, so remember them. the others I've not heard of.

We had a Robert Hall which was a clothing store as I recall. We currently have a "Little" Red Barn family type restaurant (note the word "Little" in the name), and I think there's a Gino's in an older section of town. I'm not real certain the latter two are related to the ones you refer to since those I mentioned seem like local outfits rather than franchises.

I remember all of them except Gino's and Red Barn. Those
department stores were big then. Hot Shoppes were cafeterias that were very big in the Washington DC area.

It seems that Bradlees disappeared not so long ago in the
80s, so did Memco.

Just Hot Shoppes I think most of those are from the Northeast.

I remember Robert Halls department store. Bought my wedding suit at storing Lynchburg,Va in 1969.. Got married in hat suit in 1969 and still married to my lovely wife Donna

Cincinnati had a Robert Hall's store in the 60's. But it's gone now.

We used to get my Grandpa stuff at Robert Halls! And was Bradlees a variety store, kind of junior type Wal-Mart, but much smaller?

Never heard of any of them, although they may be limited to certain areas of the country (I'm 36, and grew up in southern California)...
