Someone commented this to me.

The reason I do not believe this can be so is because the definition of God is off here. God by Christian definition is a being of perfect existence, existing outside of time.

That God is a pink elephant or sandwich is an imaginative thought, but under this system of logic it is completely fallacious. Pink elephants and sandwiches have a dependant existence (have a cause) as I was demonstrating before the being which is named God is shown to be without cause.

Substituting imaginative things for such a being may be whimsical but its not a valid argument.

lol. ^.^

There is a new book coming out, detailing that Mother Teresa did not "feel" the presence of God or Jesus or whatever during the last 50 years of her life. Which suggests to me that she "felt" something for the first 35 years of her life. So, what the hell are you supposed to feel? In this country of >90% God fearing Christians, no one has ever told me that they "felt" anything. People have told me that they "believed", but no one has ever spoken to me about genuine "feelings". Does anyone out there "feel" the presence of God? What does he feel like? Is he tickly? Does his breath smell OK? Or is it kinda musty? Perhaps this explains why I am an athiest. I've never felt a damn thing. Well, I thought I did once, but it turned out to just be the cat...

I brought up this question a few monthes ago, but I want to see what people are still saying about modesty.

I don't wnat to limit this question to any particular race or religion, I wan tto see what anyone and everyone thinks from Athiests to Muslims, to Mormons, non-Denominational, to Catholics. What is your view on modesty?

I've grown up being taught to respect my body. Respect, in this case, being defined as wearing clothing that covers the middrift, where the pants aren't overly tight or overly baggy, and shirts covering the shoulders, for both genders. This isn't limitted to females. All people are included.

I don't mean exactly covering your ankels and faces at all times, but I myself, where knee leangth shorts. my swim suits are one piece. What do you all think about how to resect your body.

I also believe in one set of piercing, on the earlobes only. I disagree with tatoos also.

Give me your views and understandings on this matter.

I'm a devout Catholic who attends church every week. I also attend special masses as well. I pray to God every day and I stay connected to my religion. How many of you are Catholic? Every time I post a question on this site I always get people answering my questions who aren't Catholic. Most of the time those people just want to put me down! It's not fare! Does anyone agree with me?

A 14 year old girl stayed the night at my house who said her parents had her get baptized Mormon once, then they had her get baptized regular Christian once, then they took her to a different Mormon church and had her baptized Mormon again, and then to another regular Christian church and had her baptized regular Christian again. Then they turned non-religous on her. She said they confuessed her. She don't want to be Mormon but I think it's her parents fault for confuessing her and Switching all the time on her. She wouldn't be considered an apostate, right?

Do you think a person's race should generally determine a person's culture? Should a person align himself w/the country he was raised in, the country his parents were born in, or the country where he is a citizen?

Is it *racist* to criticise a foreign culture?

For example, Me. I'm searching for the right path, I want to know the answers to my many questions. I don't necessarily think I will find them on Y/A, but, I am searching. Isn't that what spirituality is? Now, I know some Christians hate me, and the feeling is mutual, But, some of you are pretty smart. I have seen an occasional glimpse of light in your eyes other than DOGMA. I am an atheist who knows I am not the smartest person who ever lived, therefore I don't know ALL the answers. But, like everyone else here, except for you, the one getting ready to hit the report button, we are all Spiritual, would you agree?

to control others and put fear into them. This man was born in the late 1800. Has anyone else heard of this? I also think if we eliminated the idea of "hell" and that God only allowed certain individuals into "heaven" we would not be so controversial. Agree or disagree?

why do we punish people for attempted suicide? if they're trying to kill themselves and are too dumb to do it before the cops show up we're probably better off without them!

and if you kill a pregnant woman you can get charged with double murder. but the same woman could kill the would-be second victim herself and be free.

what's wrong with our country?

we can do what we want with our bodies. the baby is another human being and has a right to try and make a good life for itself. it's not so much as doing something to your body as it is killing another human without ever giving them a chance to live. just because you might have made some mistakes doesn't mean they will make the same ones. how would you have liked to have been murdered by your parents before you had a chance to hear music, look at the beauty of the earth, fall in love? they're another human being and deserve a chance.

again, what's wrong with this country?

Ok..I came across a question as to why Christians believe in a God that created hell. Someone answered it with a statement: God created Hell to punish sinners and gave an example of the Judicial system ie. sentencing someone for a crime.

My question is, What is considered a sin that will get you into hell and what is considered a sin that can be forgiven so you don't go to hell? Where does the line cross at?

Some Christians say believing in Astrology is a Sin, but yet, it isn't considered a crime in Society. Some Christians say believing in Superstition is a sin, but yet, everyone participates in a Superstitious act in one form or another. Some Christians say and believe God is the only one who can judge on judgement day, but yet, many Christians still pass judgement on those that do not follow their step.

So where does the line cross at??

I just want an honest opinion.
If a person not black uses the N word, black people will consider it an uttermost insult, and rigtfully so.
But I dont understand is why blacks say it (especially those "gangsta" personna). Arent they really allowing themselves to be insulted by themselves or is there something that I am not getting here?
An insult is an insult, that shouldnt make it okay for anyone to say it, blacks or not.
