Well, the BoM is heavily plagiarized from the King James Version, so I was wondering if Nephi had a copy of it.

Aloha Spirit: Please clarify your last sentence. “Joseph Smith Jr. was intimately familiar with the KJV, so he used the same writing style” To me that sounds like your confession that Joseph smith was authoring the book instead of ancient Jews, and that he was using his biblical familiarity to make his fictitious story sound biblical. “So he used the same writing style” Did the ancient Hebrews use the same writing style to the KJV, or did Joseph? Why would Joseph need to make it sound biblical if he wasn’t writing it? It seems like the Hebrews would have made it sound biblical not smith. ? But then you add “in his translation”. But if Smith is the one responsible for making it sound bibilical, then he didn’t translate it, he wrote it.

What is strange about the book of Mormon is the fact that although it was translated from the 'plates' around 1830, but is written it the older English of the 1611 King James Bible.
Also, through reseach nased upon the discovery of the "Dead Sea Scrolls" Some of which date to 200 BCE or earlier, is that some translational errors found int the KJV, were directly repeated in the verses that are exactly the same in the BOM.
Some might think that the BOM was written in the style of the KJV and even plaigarized veres from it, so as to lend authenticity to what very well may be a fabricated story, based upon someone's desire to invent a new religion for some sort of personal desire to aggradize themself for gain of either power or profit.
Just a few things to think about.
I was once talikng with a Mormon several years back, and was told that the BOM was the bread (word) of God given to his people on the American Continent, because it would not have been fair for the Jews, and subsequently the Europeans Asians and Africans to have access to the word, and the Americans (apparently some of God's people had made their way to the western hemisphere) to not have received theirs.
But then the American worshippers had some sort of war and annihilated each other.
The irony of the revelation of these golden plates to Joseph Smith is this: He, already had the food of the Bible, and thus would have had no need for the BOM. And, if what Mormon doctrine claims is true, that we need the BOM AND the Bible, then their logic that the BOM was the food for the American worshippers falls apart. Why? Because by reason of the claim that we now need BOTH books, then it is not fair for the peoples on the OTHEr side of the Atlantic to have been unfairly deprived of the Book Of Mormon.
Anyone follow this logic?

Moroni hid the golden plates approximately 421 AD. The King James Version of the Bible was published in the 1600s. Joseph Smith Jr received the golden plates in the 1820s and published a translation in 1830 as the Book of Mormon.
As to the Isaiah passages found in the Book of Mormon: Lehi directed his sons to seek a copy of the brass plates from Laban. These plates included Lehi's genealogy (he was a relative of Laban) plus the Old Testament up to about Jeremiah (Jeremiah was preaching at about the same time Lehi's group left Jerusalem).
Joseph Smith Jr was intimately familiar with the KJV, so he used the same writing style in his translation.

The Nephites had much of what we call the Old Testament Bible, plus some other books that we do not find in the Bible. They came with those books 600 years before Christ was born. Now as you know the books were not put together into the KJV of the Bible until much later. Much of the first book of Nephi deals with how they got those records. You should try reading it with an open mind. I would be willing to say if you do read it with an open mind and do no more than have faith God could have done what the book says you will find the truth.

Well, considering that King James had the King James version written back in the 1600's, and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon in the late 1820's, you decide, though the events in the Book of Mormon occurred from 600 B.C. to 421 A.D.

First in which way?
The Bible was written starting a very long, long time ago, at the time of Moses.
The Book of Mormon was started at approximately 600 AD.
The King James version was translated into English during the rule of King James.
The Book of Mormon was translated into English starting in the 1820s.
In case you're not aware, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints considers both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. The Book of Mormon is not a different version of the Bible, but actually a different book written by a different people. Both books testify of Christ, but were written by different cultures.
I hope this answers your question.

A better question is which came first the masonic lodge or the Mormons as one of them definitely copied the other.
Another interestng question is, ginven the scant archeological evidence for the Bible, is there *ANY* evidence for the book of Moromon?

I venture to say the cave paintings in southern France are the first 'stories' about heroes and gods, so everything else is about 25,000 years younger at least.
And still stories.

Christians: Which came first, the apostles Jesus chose, or the self-appointed apostle Paul who came later with another gospel and half the NT?

black death, I think I know your brother, creeping death, we were friends in iraq
the book of mormon was written by joseph spalding, a sunday school teacher 100 years before josph smith, confirmed by hand writing analysis......
it was a childrens story, it contains a lot of problems, one of which is it is not in a agreement with the bible.
if you wish to trust it, you will die in your sins and burn in eternal hell, that is the good news
the bad news is you read this and missed the chance to change your ways.
i'm just trusting Jesus is really not Adam God's son, but Eternal God
