My other account is so "Obvious".

I know almost every christian has purpously gotten attention one way or another when fasting. Even I have a long time ago, I had a painful face on wanting someone to ask me what was wrong, and I would tell them I was fasting and I would feel good about it. I can't believe how stupid I was a long time ago, and I'm surprised that almost every christian has done that. How many of you have purpously gotten attention while fasting? I think its something thats suppose to between God and the person fasting, I also believe that once you seek attention for your fasting, you will receive no blessings from God. What are your opinions?

It is clearly written in the bible that earth was created in 7 days and that earth is only over 6,000 years old. Now science has proven them wrong, so the slippery christians go all the way and say that those numbers are not to be taken literally??!! If 7 days does not mean 7 days, then why would the author bother writing the word "Day" at all? Days, weeks, months, years, and etc., are not random durations made up from scratch! They are calculated from earth's circulation around itself and around the sun! The bottom line is that when you believe in something, you must take what you have and stand by that! You can't change the content of what you believe in inorder to benefit your own belief! Either you believe what the entire book says or don't believe it at all!

My mother is a Saint. My Grandmothers are Saints. How come I can't find no woman here that could continue the line of good women in my family.

They were nice girls, waited for marriage. They tell their granddaughters sleeping round is a sin- they didn't do it.

And they can cook old world style. My mother makes the best pasta, period! It seems all the women I meet live on take out chinese or McDonalds or more of that unhealthy stuff.

And the women in my family, they demand respect and gets it. I have not met any woman that demands it, quite on the contrary. They seem to do whatever they can to tarnish their reputations.

What do you think?

I work at an EXTREMELY fashionable clothing store, and I mean EXTREMELY fashionable. I am faced with a rather DISGUSTING problem at work that has caused me CONSIDERABLE STRIFE with my supervisor and clientele.

Namely, we have had at least four recent "Alli" related accidents in our stores, including two different ladies who DEMANDED to use our restrooms, even though they are not for the public. You may be aware that the fat blocker Alli has a side effect that causes those who exceed their fat quotient to have EXTREMELY URGENT AND SEVERE DIARRHEA When I said no to the one today, she SCREAMED at me and told me that she was on Alli, had a cheeseburger for lunch, told me to SHUT UP, barreled past me and ran for the bathroom.

Two recent accidents have happened in the dressing rooms as well, and some of our merchandise has been ruined as a result. My boss SCREAMED at us today and told us the next time there is an "ALLI-OOPS" in the store, someone is getting fired, looking at me!

For us to see a big decline in discrimination against GLBT people in our lifetime?

I have noticed a shift already. Many teenagers and younger people are more accepting towards GLBT people, and many of them feel less insecure about "coming out" than the last generation. I know it's not possible to remove discrimination entirely, but with the current declines in open bigotry; I think it may be possible for us to have to worry very little about homophobes and other discriminators in the future.

i have always pronounced this word gee-uh-teen , yet most others pronounce it gil-uh-teen. i come from a family that has always focused strongly on proper linguistic skills and have been many many many times complimented for my extroardinary vocabulary, which was at a college level by 6th grade. when i researched this online (dictionary.com was my source) i got two pronounciation keys, saying both of us are right. yet it was confusing. could you explain? incidintily the double L makes y sound in most latin based languages , perticularly romance languages, indicating that i am correct.

. . . can't seem to quite come up with one of my own.

How about "I've never had sex with a goat I set on fire?"

Will that do?

Maybe "I've never killed anyone that didn't deserve it?"

How's that? No?

How about I just give ten points to the first person to identify both references? :-)

Having no "religion", I should leave some instructions for my
funeral rites for those I left behind, so that they will not be
uncertain of what to do or worse, quarrel over what should be done. What options do I have for my funeral rites?

I see that so many of you come to this board and love to make fun of Christians and they're religion. My question for you is....why are you here?

An Athiest is someone who has no religion. So if you have NO religion...why come to the religion and spirituality board?

I mean thats like a Christian coming to a board that says "Satan and Demons".

. . .may I suggest a more appropriate metaphor?

We--all of us--are on a sinking ship with no lifeboats. Jesus says to each person, "Come with Me; I have a unsinkable lifeboat and there's room in it for you." Now, if we choose to stay on board the ship as it sinks, how can we complain that we're being punished at all, let alone *unfairly* punished?
