"Why wouldn't God make ALL people his chosen ones? "
Originally it was the Jewish religion. It was invented by the Hebrews. When the Bible was written it was written for the Jews, there was no such thing as a Christian back then.
It wasn't until the time of Christ that the religion of the Hebrews began to spread. Jesus told everybody that they could join up. Cults formed underground after he went away and later on Rome adopted the religion as their own. After that Christianity underwent crazy changes that incorporated the archaic religions of indigenous people the Romans wanted to convert.
Through all this the old testament, which in it's true form is known as the Torah, was kept relatively authentic, (the true Torah is even more pure as it is copied under stringent rules), so, the old testament still considers the Jews as the chosen ones.
The Jews do not consider the new testament part of their religion. They are said to be the chosen ones by God in their holy book so they believe it.
A lot of real Christians believe that the Work of Jesus, such as his allowing his crucifixion and death, served to pull all Christian believers under the "chosen" umbrella. So, Christians tend to reject the words in the Bible where God says the Hebrews are the chosen people.
Pick and choose.

He did make All humans his chosen ones.
Read Revelations 7:9 After these things I saw, and , look a great CROWD, which no man was able to number, out of ALL nations, and tribes AND peoples, and TONGUES, standing before the LAMB, dressed in white robes, and in their hands were palm branches.
See all people! People of the nations is translated literally in Hebrew hag.GOH-YIM', or the nations (goyim0
No insult there, just the bible Truth that ALL people are His chosen ones.
The bible in acts and Romans will show how God and Jesus tried to offer the salvation first to the Jews. BUT as a nation they turned it down, only a few individuals excepted the Christ.
So somewhere in Romans the 14 chapter we see how gentiles became welcome. Later Jewish elders in the early Christian congregation were spoken to for taking sides, JEW against, Barbarian Christian!
Jews abandon the Son of God and as a NATION lost favor, they are no longer as an entire nation the chosen ones!!!

All people are chosen to be saved. Jesus died for all and He wishes for all to be saved but most people refuse the free gift of salvation. That's not God's fault. This is the individual's fault.
Technically the Jews are not the current chosen ones. They were chosen to be the ancestors of the Messiah. This has already occurred and God is now dealing with the new testament church. He will come back to the Jews in the final seven years of life on planet earth as we know it.

You have to check this out.
The Jews were chosen by
God to go and spread His Word
. This is the reference to "the chosen ones". Not that they were or are special.
They lost this privileged when they would not regard Jesus as the Son of God.
You guys who keep talking about free will have to come up with better answers for these guys. Come on pull out your knowledge I am tired of getting reamed.

God does not separate anyone we separate each other and do it knowing that its wrong. We are all chosen by God he created each of us. God only asked for each of us to love one another. We are all brothers and sisters in his eyes but in our eyes some of us think that we are better then others. we tend to look down on people because of race, color education, where one lives, how one dresses , job, talks etc. We have the power to improve the life of those who are less future net but instead we watch people suffer. Some of us help while others laugh and walk away. We know what is right but follow our piers and do what is wrong. Afraid of what other people will think if you do whats right. We forget that if it was us that we would want someone to help us. God is good he doesn't ask for much just for praise for the things he has given us. To treat each other with respect and pray for those who need it.

The reason why God chose the Israelites is because they were the decendants of his friend Abraham. However, according to the Bible, they lost his favor when they rejected his son Jesus Christ. Acts 10:34,35 indicates that "God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."
This indicates that God no longer grants special favor to any person on the basis of birth. He affords people of all national backgrounds the opportunity to build a relationship with him. God’s people are chosen by their faith and conduct.

I agree that all God's children are "chosen" ones.
Any religion claiming exclusivity to this honor is just plain selfish.
How dare they claim to have a selective position that suggests they are closer to God.
If I was God I'd put them in the back of the line.
Yeah, you're chosen all right ... chosen for the rear.

No one on earth knows which religion is the "chosen one" so I say stick to what you know and be a good person. Just b/c you are born in to a family who's religion is one that someone thinks is the not the "Chosen one" doesn't mean they are going to hell. God doesn't work that way!

God explains it in Deuteronomy 7: 6 "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 7 "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers..."

Virtually every religion that believes in god that way says that its followers are the chosen ones and everybody else is going to hell. Thats pretty much the summary of the middle east's childish conflict.
