I work at an EXTREMELY fashionable clothing store, and I mean EXTREMELY fashionable. I am faced with a rather DISGUSTING problem at work that has caused me CONSIDERABLE STRIFE with my supervisor and clientele.
Namely, we have had at least four recent "Alli" related accidents in our stores, including two different ladies who DEMANDED to use our restrooms, even though they are not for the public. You may be aware that the fat blocker Alli has a side effect that causes those who exceed their fat quotient to have EXTREMELY URGENT AND SEVERE DIARRHEA When I said no to the one today, she SCREAMED at me and told me that she was on Alli, had a cheeseburger for lunch, told me to SHUT UP, barreled past me and ran for the bathroom.
Two recent accidents have happened in the dressing rooms as well, and some of our merchandise has been ruined as a result. My boss SCREAMED at us today and told us the next time there is an "ALLI-OOPS" in the store, someone is getting fired, looking at me!

Amber - at least we won't have to smell them again either. If they ruin our clothing they should pay for it. Thank you and good day.

So it is your fault that people eat more fat than they should and have "Accidents"? Your boss needs to make policy changes and SHE needs to enforce them. She is the manager for a reason. She needs to deal with these problems.

Wow. I don't think you're snobby enough to work in a store like that. But let me comment on the "Alli" women. HELLO!!! The whole point of using Alli is to CHANGE your eating habits, cutting back on your fat intake, so you can lose weight. NOT so you can continue eating like a pig in heat and not gain any more fat. Sheesh!
BTW: I've been on Alli for a month now and NEVER experienced an 'alli-oops'. At the same time too, when I'm out shopping, I do NOT eat food that is high in fat. Some people, I tell ya are just ignorant. And I would be mortified if I had an accident in public. For crying out loud.

First of all, your boss is an idiot for thinking you could control this. She is also very dumb to have an upscale store with no public restrooms.
I knew about that side effect with any "fat blocker" type of product. These women should have and probably are very aware of the side effects too.
Are you actually saying that twice women have crapped in the dressing rooms ruining merchandise? If so that is disgusting. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Just let them use the bathroom. Problem solved. If your boss has a complaint, ask, "Would you rather have our merchandise ruined?" It's not your or your co-workers' faults. If bathrooms get to be a problem, put a sign out at the front of the store that says, "NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS" so people will skip over it.

While I don't agree with self-inflicted diarrhea as a weight management strategy it's just cruel to refuse the use of a private restroom to a person in severe immediate need of a toilet. Most stores value their customers and know the value in accommodating their needs. I'd bet you'll never see those customers or their money again.

No offense. But eww!!! I mean, honestly, I've read tons of articles about it and I think the whole thing is really gross. But eww! I never thought about that. And please forgive me for sounding like I have a two-word vocabulary.
I would suggest to your boss that if you have 2 bathrooms, one becomes an employee and the other a public. I would also suggest putting out a sign that says "no public restrooms" and knowing where every nearby public restroom is.
Meanwhile, I'm watching television and I've seen 2 commercials in a row for anti-fat stuff.
But honestly...eww!! Good luck, Lori!!

WHAT? You can't control other peoples bowels. And if you have a sign up that says no public restroom, sorry, they can't legally go in it. They just need some better muscle control. Or, put up a sign that says "no Alli-opps in our store, no public bathroom, you'll be held liable for any Alli-opps". Hoopefully those people will just stay home.

No real comment but I thought your "Alli-oops" was cute.
Also I want to say thank you, I did not know about this side effect, I think I'll avoid this product.
