It would seem to me when all the pro catholic answers were thumbs up, and all the honest answers were thumbs down.

Why is a challenge taken with such venom?

i know of 2, but have had no luck locating them. they are long, narrow iron blades, probably no makers name, sharpened on one edge and and a few inches at the tip. please let me know if you know of anything which could be relevant.

Granted that its the over all faith of the Catholic Church is what counts in the end and not her sinful men. However when one talks about sexual abuse on such a large scale - not just in the USA but world wide lets face it - it signals an extraordinary failure by its institutions. Initially the administration tried to cover it up. Now that the cat is out of the bag the Catholic Church has lost a lot of credibility from within and without. There are many things that are not foundational doctrine or tradition but just institutional traditions. Is there nothing that she can honestly change to regain the lost confidence and trust and revers or minimise such glaring weakness?

BTW my disbelief is based on the implausibility of god[s],but the idea of eternal life is a strong motivation.

Muslim men can marry Christian or Jewish women and they have a right within Islamic Law to NEVER convert or change their faith.

Look it up !!

Yasir Arafats wife is still a Christian.

This is solid proof Islam has no command to force others to convert.

Q Why did Jesus die? A. To save us from our sins. This is as logical as asking Q 'Why are oranges round? A. Because I crossed the street yesterday. Boh answers are illogical. They don't pertain to the Question.

The debate over evolution and creationism is a hot topic in this category, there is no question about that. What I would like to know is why do so many of you people get all bent out of shape the second someone brings up the subject? Is almost polite to be rude, this am on my way into work and bumped off the pavement by mostly black people, I'm not been racist but when i was on the tube, been squash in like a sardin and there no place to move, yet another 'black' person on a mission to make everyone else trip into work a nighmare. Even yesterday when i got the bus home from work, on the top part of the bus there was this woman (black) sleeping with her legs across the seat so nobody else could sit down, and i didn't see anyone else try, if a white person did that and a black person got on the bus, there would be fireworks.

How do I pray? Is there a right or wrong way? Sometimes when I pray I feel like I am being too informal to God and that he shuns me for not taking the traditional procedures of kneeling, putting my hands together, closing my eyes, things like that. Please tell me your opinion.

You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. I have been a Christian for over 25 years. I do try to follow the teachings of The Bible with an understanding that I can not pick and choose only the parts that are to my liking.

I believe that those who truly repent, (with the idea that to repent is to BE sorry, rather than to just say you are sorry, it also requires that you turn away from your wrongdoing,) are forgiven. I have taught my children likewise.

My question is--can a person be so vile or demented that they are never able to bring themselves to repentance? This is outside the scope of those who simply chose not to. I am thinking of habitual child abusers and serial killers here. Does it ever go from " will they repent" to "CAN they repent"?
