Presumably this would guarantee this.
BTW my disbelief is based on the implausibility of god[s],but the idea of eternal life is a strong motivation.

No. The valid reasons are that (a) there isn't a shred of evidence to support any of its propositions, and (b) the basic thesis is nonsense.

I used to have this wish. However, reading more about the nature of eternal life has led me to be more comfortable with it. Basically, if you are saved as a Christian, you will spend eternity gazing on the face of, and serving, your Beloved. If you have an earthly beloved you can begin to imagine how wonderful it must be to have this relationship with God.
This line of thought has also helped me with the seeming selfishness of wanting to go to heaven. If you read, for example, The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis, you will see that it is purely voluntary to be in Hell. The Church fathers emphasize repentance and perfecting one's soul not with the idea that you will "earn" heaven, but that you will draw closer to God and become more like Him, and in the process will want to be with Him in heaven.

The fact that you beleive that there is an eternal life to avoid means that you believe in Christianity a little bit.

Either eternal life exists or does not exist. Your (dis)belief in eternal life will not impact it's existence or lack thereof. Therefore, your believing or not believing in Christianity will not alter anything outside of your control.

I cannot imagine any other reason why someone could possibly not believe in christianity. And it must be a truly sincere wish to count.

Ha ha, um if you do infact believe in eternal life, how could you assume you can make yourself disbelive it? Forget religon. Live in the moments (you know with responsible intentions.)

If you do not wish to have eternal life, you are going about it the right way.

I will not tell you that you are crazy to not want it, or that you will change your mind, only that I pray that you do.

No, not a good reason at all. Because even if you become christian you will never know there is no eternal life because you will be dead when this one ends.

no. We all will spend eternity somewhere. Heaven or Hell. God gave us a choice to decide where we want to go. So ya... you have to believe in God to get to heaven. OR, He pretty much wont let you in!
