I was waiting for my daughter and her friend who had gone to a concert (comedy guys from "whose line is it anyway"). The door kept closing on people coming out so I walked up to the door and stood there holding it open. When I noticed people thanking me (and not thanking me) I decided to determine the percentage of people how are polite and thanked me for holding the door, including people who acknowledge me in other ways like bowing, waving or smiling at me. I was surprized by the results. Best Answer goes to the person who guesses closest to the actual percentage of polite people.

Just once I would love it if Jw's would not copy and paste the same worn out and lame crap they get from either the WTBS website or from their own cult provided Cd's when they answer questions or post a rebuttal. Seriously are you guys that brainwashed and devoid of practical knowledge that you have to ignorantly cut and paste or are you that terrified to express what YOU are thinking and not what you are programmed to say?

If not, then at what point can one accept that his experiences are true and come to conclusions through them? How do we know anything? Isn't causality itself grasped through our experiences? If this is not the best way of knowing, then what is, and why?

If so, then shouldn't we be open to something seemingly beyond science and logic? From what I've read and seen, most of us (not all) haven't had any experiences that were convincingly "supernatural." We like to poke fun at the theists for accepting something that cannot be perceived, but many of them say they have experienced "God" themselves. I don't want to get into a discussion about which Gods/gods, if any, could exist, but can we truly say for certain that they are wrong? Yes, we can come up with a scientific explanation for it in most cases, but does that mean the scientific explanation is the only real one?

I see that throwing strict empiricism out the door opens up problems, but are there problems if we don't, at times?

I would like to know exactly where in the Bible (and what version you are working out of) that it says that if I do not accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior, that I am going to go to Hell. I am not looking for your personal opinion, I am looking for the verse or verses that say those words.

Thank you.

OK, I've heard that the bible only mentions two occasions regarding birthdays, and that they were both on negative occasions. So where does it say that celebrating the day you were born is wrong? I understand, and agree with the abstaining from blood, and christmas day, well, is not the day that Christ was born, but why not be free to celebrate the day that we know we were born on? I maybe would of studied J.W even more if I had a valid explaination of this. Thanks in advance,

It seems like there are so many people who claim to be Christian who are actually trying to support their own dogma or agenda, and it causes a rift between true Christians and non-Christians. Do you think this is so, or is there another reason?

Or the Pillar of Fire? Or the Column of Smoke? Or the chorus of angels that hung over the manger when Jesus was born? Or the dove and booming voice when Jesus was baptized? Or all the miracles alleged to have been made?

God doesn't seem to have any problem appearing before Bronze Age monkeys, but is awfully shy with 21st century Humanity.

Can you explain this behaviour?

i am so completely bored. i am stuck at home for the next 2 weeks before i go to camp and have absolutely nothing to do. i can't just sit at home doing nothing, i don't want to, and my mother won't let me anyway. she wants me to take some sort of class or program. the thing is, most of them are filled up by now. thats my fault, i should have planned something before summer came, and i dont know why i didn't. i completely regret it.
i would love to volunteer at a hospital but its probably too late now. i wouldn't hate doing a program/class, but im honestly kind of afraid to do one by myself. i can't do it with a friend, b/c all my friends are on vacation or in camp at the moment. im really shy, and even though one of the main things i want to do this summer is completely get over my shyness, im still afraid to do a class.
someone please give me a suggestion of something to do, or a way to get over my shyness of taking a class alone.
thanks so much.

I was born and raised in a Catholic church. We never went to church often. Then, i started going to a Baptist church later with my friend. I started getting more out of church when i went there, and i actually go there because i want to. My mom, however, doesn't like me going to a Baptist church, and lately she's been using comments like, if you don't do this, you can't go to youth or church tomorrow. I just want something that tells her there's nothing wrong with being a baptist. If you have scripture that says that, it would even be more helpful.

who God lets in heaven? The ones that they hate/don't like might get a spot right next to them in heaven. Is that why God has to remove their earthly memories and grant them the gift of amnesia in heaven. How else would they be able to tolerate people that they said were going to hell?

Before anyone suggests anything inhumane about me, realize that this is meant as a rhetorical Q as much as anything, intended to initiate thought (where I feel some may be lacking).

Everyone knows what Hitler did and what he was trying to do. So I ask, what WAS "wrong" about it? Consider, he sacrificed many for what he felt was the good of many more. Also, he was most likely mentally insane. Should he be hated for something he had little or no control over? Moreover, what was in fact wrong about what he did? He thought and, apparently, honestly believed that cleansing a race was very noble and important. Who are we to say him doing something he believed very passionately in was wrong?

Most important thing to me about this is, WHY do you think/feel/react the way you do? I'll be happy to share my thoughts when answers stop coming in.

I must add this thing also that....
Is Islam the only religion that one should believe in and no other religion. If yes then doesn't God belong to other people, or to whome will the remaining belong to.
