--SO THEN , you do not believe any of the writers and persons who were faithful to God , that he indeed was the personification of goodness?
--IF THE QUALITY of goodness did not exist in him then WHY was it pronounced at the end of each creative day , by Jehovah God ,that they were either "good" or "very good"?
--AND Why did Jesus say to someone who called him "good teacher"
(Luke 18:18-19) “. . .d a certain ruler questioned him, saying: “Good Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit everlasting life?” 19 Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.”
**MOSES RECORDED this about Jehovah:
(Exodus 33:17-19) “17 And Jehovah went on to say to Moses: “This thing, too, of which you have spoken, I shall do, because you have found favor in my eyes and I know you by name.” 18 At this he said: “Cause me to see, please, your glory.” 19 But he said: “I myself shall cause all my goodness to pass before your face, and I will declare the name of Jehovah before you; and I will favor the one whom I may favor, and I will show mercy to the one to whom I may show mercy.””
--WHY WOULD MOSES express a quality of goodness about Jehovah , was he lying or do you not read?
(Numbers 10:29-32) “. . .Then Moses said to Ho′bab the son of Reu′el the Mid′i·an·ite, the father-in-law of Moses: “We are pulling away for the place about which Jehovah said, ‘I shall give it to YOU.’ Do come with us, and we shall certainly DO GOOD to you, because Jehovah has SPOKEN GOOD concerning Israel.” 30 But he said to him: “I shall not go along, but I shall go to my own country and to my relatives.” 31 At this he said: “Please, do not leave us, because, for the reason that you well know where we may encamp in the wilderness, you must serve as eyes for us. 32 And it must occur that in case you should come with us, yes, it must occur that with what GOODNESS Jehovah will do good with us, we, in turn, will do good to you.””
--THE PSALMIST expressed this about God, (Psalm 25:7) “. . .The sins of my youth and my revolts O do not remember. According to your loving-kindness do you yourself remember me, For the sake of your goodness, O Jehovah.”
--BUT IF you wish to believe your own thinking , that might be narcisstic in character , that is your perogative!
--KEEP IN MIND YOUR thinking challenges all the Bible writers, and faithful women & men in its entirety.

God's grace and mercy is clearly revealed in both Old and New Testaments. Give study to the Tabernacle and its significance in the Old Testament. God's mercy is revealed all over the Sanctuary service. The Bible also says that even Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8.

There is no evil in God. However, He is supremely just and fair. So when we don't do good, we often cause our own disasters and punishments to fall upon us.
I also have had troubles with the old testament. I've read it three times now in 2 or 3 different versions (Try the amplified version out now-it's longer but easier to read and much clearer)
I think one of the keys is--it is difficult to be God's chosen people. If you have a covenant with God and you keep your side of the bargain, there's no end of the blessings you will receive, including having your enemies totally whipped for you! Your enemies flee at a sound, or something, and even leave you all their possessions! HOWEVER, when you don't keep your side of the covenant, all hell gets to break loose in your stubborn backside until you learn a lesson. God doesn't cause the punishment, He allows us to get what's coming to us, what we are asking for, and what we would have gotten before, if He hadn't been protecting us. God also teaches us lessons-some are really hard ones. And you repeat the test until you learn the lesson. That's hard, too. So are the pop quizzes.
I also think the writing style is very different. They express things differently than you or I would. The warnings are over-emphasized, not just because these people were stubborn, but also because no one had a copy of the book at home. The scriptures were read aloud at the temple. You gotta get people's attention. What if all U>S> laws and statutes were read aloud to you for hours at a time on your only day off? I never really thought of it before, but . . . you see my point?
The Bible is written in layers, meaning upon meanings and hidden meanings, and God lets you see and helps you understand what you need to know. Please don't get stuck on some point that may not even be relevant to you.
God is real, just like gravity is real. People who don't 'believe in' gravity do not go floating off into space. God is even more real than gravity. He is everywhere, all the time. ( Even in space, even aboard falling airplanes!) And He really does love you. He loves you, He loves you, He loves you!! (and I do, too.) Live well, do good and love deep.

He is good for those who trust Him. You might have missed that little thing about God blessing those who trust Him. The same thing with the New Testament. ( Why do people miss that so often? )
Jesus condemns those who trust in themselves for righteousness, it's a pattern you see.
I think that it's important to know that Jesus will be on the throne judging. Didn't you read the New Testament?

Those that have a problem with the old testament, try the new. If that does not help, find yourself a religion that you can accept on your terms. I would be interested in seeing how many followers you get.
Loosen up, live and let live, let those who believe alone, they are likely more happy than you are.

I believe in the Creator AND I DO NOT read the bible. I feel it is distorted and mixed history that was twisted also in the opinions of THOSE who's hands it unfortunately into. Yes I believe in the prophets but not the way the stories go. Besides in my opinion the "bible days" still exist so I go by my own experiences and pray/worship the Creator accordingly.

Your English not seem right, appear to me, yes? Or what was question? That God isn't there like OT says He is. He is there, whether you ask right or wrong, think rightly or wrong, He is there, waiting for you to accept Him. God doesn't need a Bible to make Himself real to you........

The new covenant is talked about first in the book of Jeremiah. The old covenant that God had established with His people required obedience to the Old Testament Mosaic law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the law required that people performed rituals and sacrifices in order to please God and remain in His grace. The prophet Jeremiah predicted that there would be a time when God would make a new covenant with the nation of Israel.
"'The day will come,' says the Lord, 'when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,' says the Lord. 'I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people" (Jeremiah 31:31,33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and create a new covenant between God and His people. The old covenant was written in stone, but the new covenant is written on our hearts, made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His own blood to atone for the sins of the world. Luke 22:20 says, "After supper, Jesus took another cup of wine and said, 'This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.'"
Now that we are under the new covenant, we are not bound by the law. We are now given the opportunity to receive salvation as a free gift, not as a reward for any of our good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through the life-giving Holy Spirit who lives in all believers (Romans 8:9-11), we can now share in the inheritance of Christ and enjoy a permanent, unbroken relationship with God. Hebrews 9:15 declares, “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”

The roots of Christianity grow in the OT, via primitive Judaism and the original `God` of spite , bloodshed, and vengeance.
