ha...I think many will be surprised when they get to heaven, and see all kinds of people there...all colors, nationalities, religions and sexual orientations.....
God is bigger than we give him credit for...and most fundies limit his capabilities by putting him in a box...to only form the mold of their limited understanding that they can comprehend...thereby, shutting out all others....

That's only half of it! Only some of us lose our memories, while others lose both memories, and bodies. Some get to keep almost everything, some keep nothing. Others appear as animals. How else would we (the ones that are allowed to keep the memories) get to judge the people we know? How could the ones we know get to judge us? That's part of Judgement Day. For some, its real good...for others...bad news. And when you get to heaven, you may discover that the people you miss the worst aren't so great, after all, when you can see who they really are without your former relationships with them to complicate things. Even though you may try to help them, they are still who they were, and would not believe you if you told them. They will remain unaware forever. Then there are some who would listen, who you did not suspect ever cared. And you may find that some of the most popular biblical ideas are not true, at all! (Better be prepared for that one!) One of the most popular is this: that you would know when you entered heaven. Think about that for a while...almost everybody assumes that they will automatically know...but who said that's true? Not knowing is one of the curses put upon those who never wanted to know God. You might even swat someone you knew for being a mosquito!
('cuz all they really were, was a bloodsucker anyway...lol!)
This is a GREAT question and thanks for daring to think beyond the crowds! I mean...herds....no, wait...flocks...oh, nevermind!...you'll see when you get there...maybe...

It would indeed be funny if the Protestants were right, then Adolf Hitler will be up there with them in heaven (even though he was a devout catholic) for following Martin Luther's teachings to a tee. God will forgive you for anything (except blaspheming the holy spirit - which Hitler never did), even (and especially) killing people... And Hitler reputedly gave confessions and asked god for forgiveness for all his sins... Hell, Hitler was a great follower of the commandments to kill non-believers and Luther's urgings to kill the Jews. If you read the bible cover to cover and then read some of the writings of Martin Luther... if you're a christian there's no way you can take those books seriously and deny that Hitler is in heaven.
If you really take the bible literally, Hitler is in heaven while Ghandi is in hell. Go figure.
But that's a large part of why I'm not christian.

Will people in heaven be surprised at who God lets in heaven? -- Yes
Is that why God has to remove their earthly memories and grant them the gift of amnesia in heaven.
If there are no memories of life on earth, how will you know that it is us? That would be rather pointless...

So, where did you hear that people in Heaven have amnesia?
But, yes, I suspect that most of us be surprised at who we might see there, and who we might NOT see there.
My question is just how will they look, if we see them as a "standard" humanoid. That is, would my mother look like she did when she died, or like when she was a teenager, or as I remember he best? The bible talks about a totally different spiritual "body." Paul compares the change in bodily structure to the process where a seed becomes a plant.
So I really don't know; just expect that I will be happy, whichever way it works out.

Probably... as long as you follow God, you have to be a good person, everything will work out--- otherwise it depends on whether you were a good person/bad person and whether you felt remorse for you're actions.
And Gandhi should be in heaven because he was a good person, but so should Hitler if he truly felt remorse

I think there will be surprises. I don't tell people that are going to Hell, that is between them and God. I believe we will have our memories, but it won't matter, as we will be all forgiven.

What is that about "the ones that they hate?" Don't you have to LOVE EVERYBODY?
If a drunk driver kills your baby, don't you love the killer? You must. God told you to love everybody.

After resurrection, people will be like Jesus, and therefore think like Jesus, and therefore agree with Jesus' judgments.
