Mormons are probably the nicest, hard-working and often smartest people I've ever met. I get this feeling that many grew up in the church from a young age and can't leave it easily if they want to. I've heard it's very hard to leave the church. Do you think a lot of Mormons are just staying in it because their families and friends are in it and it's too hard to leave?

I am a Chrisitan. i have agnostic friends and respect their point of view. but i don't honestly know an athiest. at least not one that can express anything intelligent about your beliefs. i've always had some questions, and if you answer, please don't be mean or ignorant. i am sincerly curious.
-Is the idea of God offensive? I read what people say about him on here, and it's not even close to what the bible portrays. is the problem with God, or Christians? i can understand it being with Christian. i don't like most of them either.
-What is it about spiritual things that makes you so mad or uncomfortable.
-Christianity teaches: complete exceptance and forgiveness. grace. love from a community. a guide that, if you are honest, is benificial for society in general.
i don't know what people talk about when they say Christianity is built on hate in so forth. that is about as far from the truth as it could be.
any help would be cool. remember, no meanies or dummies.thanks!

Christians tell me that they feel God's presence all around them. Then right after that they tell me that God is desperately trying to get my attention. Well it sure doesn't seem like he is trying to get my attention. If he was desperately trying to get my attention, wouldn't he be standing in the sky waving his arms screaming, "Hey #$%HOLE, I'm right here, you believe in me now"???? Thats what I do when I try desperately to get someones attention. They also claim that they talk to God regularly. Does he talk back????? What does he say to you?????? Whats his voice sound like????

Scientists have known since the '80s of an Iridium layer. This layer of dirt contains high levels of an isotope of iridium found in meteorites and volcanic debris.

There are more than 100 sites world wide and all of them dated to circa 65 million years ago (and I should point out that many people have conducted this testing, some to prove the theory of a meteor wiping out the dinosaurs wrong). The results are unanimous and conclusive.

So if there was a world-wide flood, the oceans would have flooded the land and just as we find in tidal flats, as the water receded the salt would have condensed on the land and left a rather thick film (about a foot thick) over most or all of the dry land.

This would be a single layer (as it all occurred at the same time) and every core drilling for oil as well as the drilling for iridium would have found it.

Yet, no such layer has ever been found.

Explain, please?
