we don't hate them.

it's just that quoting the bible is not answering a question. i thumbs down people who don't bother to answer the question, and unless it's a question specifically asking for scripture, i thumbs down answers that merely quote the bible.

Using a quote from a scripture is a cop-out way to answer a question. I may use a website occasionally to answer a question, but I usually sum up what is on that site and then provide the link.

Use your OWN words to answer, not scriptures. I can respect an answer I don't agree with if it's not parrotted from another person or book.

the clarification why is in view which you're here to furnish YOUR opinion, no longer the bibles. If somebody wanted to comprehend what the bible mentioned approximately some thing they had pass study it you comprehend? we are here to get peoples evaluations, you ought to formulate your individual opinion although if its based off of scripture. to no longer point out the scripture is 2000 years previous. We somewhat comprehend shakespeare and thats in basic terms some hundred years previous, and if somebody comes here attempting to comprehend some thing quoting 2000 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous text fabric possibly won't help them as a results of fact they would not even comprehend it. additionally its greater helpful to furnish your individual which potential than to in basic terms replica and paste, every person can try this. in case you opt to quote some thing, do one line and do a right away line of a few thing - with a right away which potential. do no longer ramble for countless paragraphs approximately issues from the bible. It purely does not accomplish something.

They have issues with scripture? It is the only reason that I can come up with.

Strange that such should be happening within an area of Yahoo that is set for the discussion of "Religion & Spirituality". Such an area naturally would have quotes from scripture and other writings that others see as 'holy'.

Because many just quote scripture without looking for any real answers. Quoting scripture can be seen as a cop out.

Quoting the scriptures to someone who doesn't believe in the Scriptures in order to reinforce a point is meaningless, an insult in fact, hence the thumbs down.

The only way quoting from the scriptures would be appropriate (I use this as an example) would be if someone asked something like "Where in the Bible does it say not to eat chameleons?" and someone replied by quoting Deuteronomy.

Well atheists generally hate God and Gays want everyone required by law to approve of the Homosexual lifestyle even if a person finds the idea of men peeing on each other to be very disgusting.

Already over in Sweden you aren't even allowed to say out of the Bible itself that Homosexuality is a Sin (A Minister in Sweden was thrown in Jail for even reading the verse in his own Church, yet he was not even advocating death to Gays, in fact he actually is against Fred Phelps approach to the situation, and well Fred Phelps did support this Swedish minister for opposing Homosexuality till the same Minister said that although he opposes the lifestyle, he wishes absolutely no harm).

But yeah all the sudden we are no longer allowed to say we oppose the Homosexual Lifestyle, and all the sudden everyone has to raise a glass of 17th century French Wine and say "I pledge allegiance to the Homosexual lifestyle."

No I am not advocating harm against Gays at all and by the way Everyone already has the right to decide who can visit them in the Hospital, Jail and Psych Ward (even Gay partners) and one has a right to decide who can inheirit their stuff at death (even Gay partners), so a Gay marriage is not even needed to secure all this because even a Gay can make those decisions now without a Marriage.

And I will never ever support Gay Marriage and I will never approve of the Gay Lifestyle either, i'm not going to advocate harm on Gays at all, I actually don't like it when people do kill Gays, but I also don't like it when a Gay kills someone and gets away with it.

But I am not going to be forced by law to approve of the Homosexual Lifestyle.

Nine times out of ten you didn't really answer the question. People are asking what you think the vast majority of the time. If someone is asking a question that would be answered with a Bible quote, I skip the question because it is boring.

hate is not really the right word - you simply can't assume that everyone believes in the authority of scripture. an answer that is based on that concept is not useful to many people. shocking, isn't it?

Using a quote from Harry Potter as if it were fact is ridiculous, unless you have an outside source confirming it as more than just fantasy.
