Rape is about control, dominance and degradation. It has nothing to do with having feelings for someone.

1. Rape is about power and dominance - you have the power and the victim is helpless.
2. To destroy the morale of your enemies.
3. Genetic genocide - when rape victims become pregnant, the child not be entirely their race.
4. To make men stay away from the warfront and at home. If a man had to choose between protecting his country or his family - I am sure he would choose his family.
5. Because of the culture in some military units - away from home, away from society etc some men feel that they can do what they like...

Rape has become a military tactic. In some war-torn areas, insurgents rape virtually every adolescent girl found in the villages they overrun.
In one land, the UNChildren’s Foundation reports the rape of girls has become a “systematic weapon of war.” The report says: “It seems right to conclude that the veneer of civilization has never before been worn so thin.”
Rape flourishes in societies that tolerate violence and sexual manipulation. In a number of countries, men and women are bombarded at young ages with destructive messages and misinformation about sex: through the media, the family, and their peers. They learn the poisonous concepts that sex and violence are linked and that women exist to provide sexual satisfaction to men, regardless of women’s wishes.
“When it comes to sexual relations, saying ‘no’ is often meaningless when the words are spoken by a female,” said journalist Robin Warshaw. And all too often, rape is the result. Be careful about drinking alcohol. You should be aware of a pattern of behavior in a man—even one you know well—that may identify him as a potential raper.
Remember your goal: escape - Your fear is an attacker’s most powerful weapon.
Stopping rape is more than a matter of women hiding from rapists or fighting them off. “It is men who rape and men who collectively have the power to end rape,” said author Timothy Beneke in his book "Men on Rape."
However, rape won’t end without revolutionary changes in world society. “Rape is not only an individual problem but is also a family problem, a social problem, and a national problem,” said researcher Linda Ledray.
The Bible promises an earth-wide society free of violence, where man will no longer ‘dominate man to his injury.’ (Ecclesiastes 8:9; Isaiah 60:18.) The time will soon come when Jehovah God will not tolerate any further abuse of power, including rape.—Psalm 37:9, 20.
In that new world society, all persons will be educated to be peaceable and will love one another regardless of gender, race, or nationality.---Isaiah 54:13.
God told the nation of Israel: “You will become engaged to a woman, but another man will rape her.” (Deuteronomy 28:30.) This took place when, because of their disobedience, Jehovah removed his protection from the nation, and the pagan enemies overran their cities. Babylon was also foretold to suffer such treatment, which occurred when it fell to the Medes and Persians. (Isaiah 13:1, 16.) According to the Law, such would not happen to nations subjugated by Israel, for the soldiers were forbidden to have sexual relations during a military campaign.—1 Samuel 21:5 - 2 Samuel 11:6-11.
Even warfare was regulated under the Law. God’s people were to wage war, not to satisfy a mere lust for power or conquest, but to act as God’s agents in “Wars of Jehovah.” (Numbers 21:14) In many cases, the Israelites had to offer terms of surrender first. If a city rejected the offer, then Israel could besiege it—but according to God’s rules. Unlike many soldiers throughout history, men in Israel’s army were not allowed to rape women or engage in wanton slaughter. Other armies had no such restrictions.—Deuteronomy 20:10-15, 19, 20; 21:10-13.

conflict brings out the very maximum suitable virtues, bravery, self sacrifice, in some, and the very worst in others. it incredibly is the respond in itself. interior the previous, it became an many times happening component of conquest, to coach who the recent proprietors are, and to further humiliate the defeated enemy. In some historic cultures, i've got heard, the victors would even rape the adult males, no longer via fact they have been gay, yet to humiliate the defeated warriors. They have been making a political assertion... you mess with us and it incredibly is what you will get.

In some cultures if a woman is raped, no man will ever want to marry her. In a war where part of the desire is to get rid of another race, one of the ways that is easier to get away with (i.e. the U.N. will notice if you kill all the women in every village, they won't notice if you rape them all) is to rape all the women. Men will no longer want to marry and/or have children with these women thus preventing population growth.

Opportunity. Normal law and protection, especially for the enemy, is suspended. Just because rape has something to do with violence, does not mean it has nothing to do with sex.

To win in war you demoralize the enemy. That is a pretty effective way of doing it.
I am not saying its right, just answering why you would.
