Since I noticed Jack B's new avatar, I figured I'ld spruce mine up a little bit. It's a Trident missle (or something like that) doing a death spiral before it goes down to Davey Jone's locker. I figure the real thing would have about 5 to 9 thermo-nuclear warheads on it. Man, are we humans toast or what? Happy R&S day to you all.

As a wiccan, I was just wondering, since we're monotheistic (The belief in one God. Yes that's right other religions, wiccans only believe in one God and it's not satan) why do we often mention greek Gods in our rituals? Is it symbolism or something?

When it comes to Gay, Abortion and Tolerant issues and isn't this what Jesus speaks of about Laodiceans Christians.

This was an interesting article on CNN about Gays and the church.
Revelation 3:16 "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot."

Is homosexuality still viewed as a sin? A recent Gallup Poll found Americans nearly evenly split between those who saw homosexual relations as "morally acceptable" (47 percent) and those who saw them as "morally wrong" (49 percent).

Some religious denominations now welcome gay parishioners and accept openly gay members of the clergy. The Episcopal Church in America has even consecrated an openly gay bishop. But some of those same denominations, including the Episcopalians, are now threatened with schism

If we assume that God is all powerful and all knowing.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that I am a serial killer. When I was born, God knew that when I became an adult, I would murder several children. God had the power to (1) keep me from being born or (2) take my life before I murdered someone.

If God is all knowing and all powerful, the blood of my victims is on his hands.

Also, when I was born, God knew that I was going to become a serial killer, and did nothing to prevent it. Did I REALLY have a choice about the matter? Could I have made a choice that is contrary to what God already knew was going to happen?

The point is, if there is a God, there is no free will.

When reading this R&S section, God seems to be very occupied with our sex lives.

All day long, every day God is busy keeping track of who sleeps with who, and who was allowed to sleep with who. I'm sure He must get tired of it.

Can't we just help Him a little, by having one sexless day each year? I'm sure it would make Him very happy and relaxed.

Can't we give the Guy a break? (I vote for June 22 as the annual sexless day)

I just found out that a dear friend's husband just died. Now, I didn't like the man at all - he was a lousy drunken bum who leeched off her for 30 years, and when I was 14 he tried to touch me in a very inappropriate way, which I never told his wife about. That was 21 years ago, and I don't see the point of bringing it up to her now, since nothing happened, but that's not the point of this question. I don't really want to go to his funeral because of my severe dislike of the man, but feel I have to for her sake. I'm just not sure what to do here. I certainly can't honor his life, but I don't feel like I can desert Val right now, either, when she needs her friends. I'm torn. Can anyone help me, please?

I know this isn't really religious or spiritual in nature, but all my friends are here, so please don't report me. I genuinely need some help on this one.

In Ezekiel 38 & 39, we're told that Russia and an alliance of nations will attack Israel during a time when Israel will wrongly perceive that there is no immediate threat posed against it.

Magog - Most agree this is a reference to Russia.
Meshech - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia, but some say it refers to the Moscow area.
Tubal - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia.
Persia - modern Iran
Ethiopia
Libya
Gomer - eastern Europe or Turkey
Togarmah - southeastern Europe or Turkey...Thoughts?
