Paige studied the writings of Allister Crowley, whom was a social non-conformist, and an occultist. the Black Magic label attached to Paige was simply to sell records. there are no satanic messages in stairway to heaven.
make any recording and play it backwards and it will sound demonic.
**********************************
CROWLEY was NOT a satanist. he founded the Thelma religion. and practiced many of the mystical teachings of the Buddhist, the Hindu, And the pre Christian/Muslim tribes of the Middle east. and focused mainly ON the religions of Ancient Egypt.
Christians call anything that is not Christian Satanism. this is simply not true.
Crowley was many things, and i have no love for the man or his teachings. but the simple facts are that he was called "the wickedest man on earth" because he was a Homosexual that refused to hide the fact. he was a blatant cross dresser when it was illegal. he was an occultist and sorcerer, at a time of great superstition.

Oh not that idiotic urban legend again.
Jimmy Page's paganism isn't involved in the writing of this song, btw.
'The first attempts at lyrics, written by Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant next to an evening log fire at Headley Grange, were partly spontaneously improvised and Page claimed, "a huge percentage of the lyrics were written there and then".[Jimmy Page was strumming the chords and Robert Plant had a pencil and paper. Plant later said that suddenly, "my hand was writing out the words, 'There's a lady who's sure, all that glitters is gold, and she's buying a stairway to Heaven'. I just sat there and looked at them and almost leapt out of my seat." Plant's own explanation of the lyrics was that it "was some cynical aside about a woman getting everything she wanted all the time without giving back any thought or consideration. The first line begins with that cynical sweep of the hand ... and it softened up after that.'

Yes, I have heard that he does. There are many many rock bands, as well as other types of music who use their music to draw you into satanic worship. Satan was God's angel before he fell. He was the main angel in charge of music. Doesn't it make sense that he would use music against God now? There is a website you can go to that tells you all kinds of stuff about this, and a lot of other really interesting stuff. It's fightthegoodfight.org and there are some tapes or discs you can purchase called "They Sold Their Souls for Rock and Roll." They are excellent, and they were a result of intense investigation by a Pastor, who used to be involved with rock and roll. It is truly eye opening, and gives you a wake-up call. I used to think this stuff was a big joke. I just blew it off. After I watched these tapes, I threw all my cd's away!! I was a big rocker. I grew up in the 70's so you can imagine. BUT, PLEASE BUY THE TAPES.They are really interesting . Watch them, and decide for yourself. They are really well done. It is worth it!! You will hear confessions from their own mouths what their intentions are in their music. You gotta see it!!! God Bless
There is a segment about Allistair Crowley in these tapes. He claimed to be possessed by Satan himself. The people who are telling you that he wasn't a satanist, are the very people who don't want you to know that. Satan likes people to think he doesn't exist so he can do his evil work through them, deceiving even those who do.
Please check out the website I told you about!! It is packed full of info. It is a 10 hour documentary, with clips from different bands and stuff.

That is one of the oldest myths in the book. If you play Stairway to Heaven backwards you get no ~message~.
What does his belief matter anyhow... he's an awesome guitarist.

No. Jimmy Page did not use black magic. There is no such thing. Just people who do good things, and people who do bad things.
And if you play Stairway to heaven backwards, you get... drumroll please,... Stairway to heaven backwards. Thats it.
As a Witch, and a person who uses magick, you can take my word on this.

I don't know if it's a curse or not, but there is evidence that Jimmy Page was a practicing Satanist back in the 70s and 80s and even to this day. In fact, he bought the house of Aleister Crowley, the most infamous Satanist in the 20th century. The house is in Scotland I believe, and Crowley was called "the other Loch Ness Monster". . .
Since no human can do that, it might be Satan.

No.
No.
I think Page was OTO at one point, so I'd assume he'd find the idea of magic being black as very silly.

I heard years ago that he bought and lived in Alistair Crowley's old house. I cant imagine why unless he is satanic.
