Or perhaps just to family and friends? And if you feel it's necessary, what NEED do they have to convert? Why is it absolutely imperative that they become Christians?

Can you imagine how much better the world would be if people stopped making donations to church and stopped spending 2 hours/week at church??
If everyone spent that money on the homeless and gave those 2 hours to helping tutor children or some other worthy cause, the world be a MUCH better place. Can you imagine if this happened?? Poverty would go down and our children would be much more educated. Religion won't help accomplish this! It is time to change our way of thinking. Imagine it...

This is purely out of curiosity, and I don't mean any offense, but if the cross is where Jesus died (according to the Christian belief), then why is it so sacred?

I know some say it's not sacred, and that it's only a reminder, but if so, then why is it believed that it protects from "demons" and so on?

When I was young, a man came to my church and gave the statistic that every ten seconds fourteen children die of hunger. Then he snapped his fingers ten times to nail in the point. After the silence of ten seconds he swore quite loudly. It was that word that our society deems as unacceptable that made everyone sit up and gasp, not the fact that children are dying.

I'm sure the fact that I have premarital sex would upset certain Christians more than if I had a bigoted attitude towards a specific race or subculture. My personal actions and what I do with my body don't harm anyone, but bias against people groups breeds intolerance and leads to senseless hate crimes.

Christians, why are we so focused on being self righteous and proper? Why do we get so worked up about people's choices and language that we don't think line up with our faith when they're really quite insubstantial in the big picture? Don't we have bigger fish to fry?

When I was a little girl I would tell people my name was Susan. Not really my name...... My younger brother spoke about remembering flying in an airplane, he had never been in an airplane. One of my Sons talked about another lifetime outright. My Grandson told me that he remembered when he was my little boy. I would like to study this because I am not getting any younger and I want to know what I was suppose to learn in this life, or if I am being punnished for things I have done in another life? I know that this go's against all christian beliefs or does it?

i had a lock smith come to my house and i never have cash he was able to run my card in his van and get an authorization. To me that is great i never have more than 5 dollars on me. If I loose my wallet (which i have) i am not resposible for the charges that people put on my cards. But if you have cash it is just gone. i know people who still walk around with wads of cash i can't stand to have money on me. Do you think now that you can use your card almost everywhere that cash will become absoulte or at least used less

Were humans meant to pair up for life?
Some animals like penguins and king fishers do.
But most animals that are similar to humans such as apes and monkeys do not have monogomous relationships.
Where do we fall?

The more I think about what a supernatural creator god would entail, the more I find the idea implausibe for mathematical reasons.

A simple example is a hallucination. Dreams and hallucinations tend to lack complex interactivity because the amount of information necessary to fool an interacting brain grows more than exponentially over a passive dupe. For example, the classic "brain in a vat" scenario fails if you imagine what it would take to convince your brain that you are interacting with a clump of sand. The data needed undergoes a so-called "combinatorial explosion."

So, then, I apply this to the universe. Theists say that God created the universe in such a way as to produce human life, but wouldn't some sort of absolute knowledge of the universe take a ridiculous amount of data storage and processing capability? Theists can cop out and say that their God can do the impossible, but that's just a cop out. How could any entity control that much data?

Theists [those who believe in the existence of god(s)] often use the causality argument to "prove" the existence of god(s). It goes something like this: Everything that exists must have a cause, therefore god(s) exist as the cause of all existence.

If everything that exists must have a cause, and god exists, the what/who caused the existence of god? To say that he/she/it had no cause is to deny it exists, since it claims that EVERYTHING that exists must have a cause.

So, here we have the the age-old question, where did god come from?

Peace,
Byron
