i had a lock smith come to my house and i never have cash he was able to run my card in his van and get an authorization. To me that is great i never have more than 5 dollars on me. If I loose my wallet (which i have) i am not resposible for the charges that people put on my cards. But if you have cash it is just gone. i know people who still walk around with wads of cash i can't stand to have money on me. Do you think now that you can use your card almost everywhere that cash will become absoulte or at least used less

Sure thing. The marketing people love it because they can track your every move and target you with advertising and promotions that will likely appeal to you. You win for the reasons you pointed out. Eventually, I think that cash will be used almost entirely in the underground economy and for very small incidental purchases, as well as venues where a card won't work well. I don't think we'll get to the day anytime soon when you have to pass your card to the hot dog guy at the ballpark. Cash will still have a place.

Paper currency and coins are more irrelevant every day. Since the same banks control the credit cards around the world, how long will it be before they determine if we use dollars or euros or rupees? If we get our sandwich, would it make any difference? The next generation will wonder why we got hung up on some of the things we do.

It's smarter I think to use debit cards rather than cash.. It comes out of my account the same as a check would..I carry less than 5.00 dollars with me. It wouldn't hurt as bad if I lost it. (cash)

yea, I believe that will be in the very near future. We won't need checks or cash, only a card or whatever they come up with next.
I heard someone say that soon we will be able to do everything including pay for things with our phones.

It's a great way to get you to spend MORE, since you don't see that green flying directly out of your wallet or purse...if people had to actually COUNT out what they are paying for, they might actually THINK, instead of reacting to making a purchase...
