I beleive that it's up to a woman to decide on their sexuality, either active or non-active. If men believe thats inmoral, I beleive that's sexism against us.

I teach Bible study at church, and I will tell you people love to talk about God's love and grace, but when you start talking to them about the necessity of repentance, obedience, and perseverance they start becoming quiet and even obstinate. Any church leaders also notice this?

Pretend you're living in the days of the New Testament. You're a devout Jew, knowing the law up and down, and true to the teachings of the early prophets. Suddenly, there are rumors of a great prophet named Jesus performing miracles and claiming that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah. You know the Scriptures of the old days and you know One has been promised. You wonder.

Days later, Jesus comes to your town. The Pharisees and Saducees speak against him, and some of your friends do the same. Yet, others of your friends say, I believe He is the one. You're caught. You don't know whether to believe or not. You hear him speak. He IS a great prophet, but is he the Messiah? You fight with yourself. You go home, search the olden Scriptures. You know that your family does not believe this man is the Messiah. You know that tradition would say he can't be the one. Yet, you know what you hear.

Will you accept Him as the Messiah?

It is claimed that a god make this world in six days, he also made the billions of stars, planets, etc in the solar system and beyond. Why did he make so many? What was the point in doing that? Answers which claim: "god moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform" will be taken as a `dont know.`
How come it took only six days?
Sensible, provable answers only, please.
Abuse will be deleted.
No bible quotes - just hard provable facts.
"Because god can do anything" will not be accepted as a viable answer.
"Because god is magic" also not accepted.
Or any claims that do not prove conclusively how it all came about, and is still coming about.
Just plain simple facts.
Short answers to gain points will aslo be deleted and given `bad answer.`
If you don`t know for sure, do not answer. Thanks

What is the etiquette for a divorce party? I am invited to one by a dear friend who is in her late 50s. The divorce was terribly painful.

I don't know if I am supposed to bring a gift, a card and, if so, what is suitable? Something wishing her well in this new phase of her life?

I searched yahoo answers and found suggestions for games, dirty jokes, etc., but that's not my style at all, or hers. I am saddened by her divorce; I have known them both for a long time and was at their wedding. I guess I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I want to know if, in your opinion, it is unfair/wrong/immoral/rude to vote for your own answer as a "best answer."

I am not asking about using multiple accounts to vote for oneself. I just mean answering a someone else's question and then, when it's in voting, choosing the familiar answer as the top choice.

Aren't Christians against rapists?
And wouldn't any Christian agree that a child shouldn't have to grow up knowing it wasn't born out of love but an evil act of sick hatred?
I just don't understand devout Christians opinions on this!

PS: I have nothing against Christians & I know that a woman has to be of a certain age to get an abortion because for example if she was 15 it would wreck her insides and mess up her puberty cycle or something.

I don't have cable (too expensive among other things) and there's rarely anything fit to watch that doesn't offend the Spirit, save a few PBS shows. My goal is to make my home a place where the Spirit dwells. And in my opinion what I allow into my home influences whether or not the Spirit will want to enter. So if (for the most part) there's little more than poopy brownies on tv, then why have a tv?

(Should I include the story of the poopy brownies to provide clarity?)
