A christian is supposed to thawrt the ego, what's more egotistical than plastic surgery?

There are no laws for Christians. In some cases I think it would be sin and in some cases I think it wouldn't be. Each person who wants it done would have to pray about it and let the Lord direct you what to do.

I'm reading the answers above. It's not always ego that would lead someone to want plastic surgery. Maybe they have a physical defect that they have been laughed at all their life for. I think God would allow them to correct it. A stronger Christian probably would live it with but God allows for our weakness at times.

It seems to be in a gray area for many Christians I know--they don't like it, but they do it, even sometimes get it for their kids (ears pinned back, more serious problems like cleft palate, etc.)

I don't think anyone should be made to feel guilty over plastic surgery, but then again, I'm not Christian and I'm getting a tummy tuck if I can ever lose 20 more pounds.

Question: What is sin?
Answer: Sin is anything that doesn't glorify God.

A Christian's life is all about glorifying God.

So instead of asking, "is plastic surgery a sin?", ask this: will this surgery glorify God? If its for vanity reasons, I would likely say that it will not glorify God.

Not necessarily. Cosmetic surgery to repair a defect is entirely reasonable, but there are better uses for one's money than to go under the knife just to enhance one's looks.

Maybe so, but I think Ernest Angley should make an exception and get some hair plugs or have his scalp stretched. Isn't it kind of egotistical of him to wear his hair helmet?

No but still be thankful for who you are. I say as long as you pay for it with your own hard earned money you are on the right track still. It will still be you no matter what.

No, what if he was burned or had horrible warts or his eye lids sagged so low he couldn't see?

Yes. If you believe in Christianity, I would assume that you would not mess with what God gave you. Right?
