I want to know if, in your opinion, it is unfair/wrong/immoral/rude to vote for your own answer as a "best answer."

I am not asking about using multiple accounts to vote for oneself. I just mean answering a someone else's question and then, when it's in voting, choosing the familiar answer as the top choice.

I wasn't expecting so many answers so quickly. I also didn't expect NO to come out so far ahead.

I'm going to put this question to a vote and see who wins (and who votes for themselves).

how would it be immoral, after all if you think your answer is the best one, then choose it!

What's wrong with it? If you answer a question, you obviously try your best, and your own best is probably gonna look better than someone else's best since the actually point of being best is different in everyone's view. It's not immoral, it's just... 21st century.

If it became merely your single vote, chum, you does not have one among those intense share of wins. No, to get that top share of ultimate solutions, you prefer 5 - 6 sock-puppet money owed balloting on your unique answer. Morality has not something to do with it. Nor ethics. this is a single-minded determination to earn valueless factors in an inconsequential talk board. that is video games performed with words--not extra, no much less. decide for it!

No, I don't think it is immoral. If I answer a question, of course, I think my answer is the best, so why not vote on it.

Why is it wrong to just be honest? Obviously you are going to be biased in favor of you own answer, but you have the right to vote just like anyone else.

LOL..................
I do not vote for myself. There are many topics that are on the board of voting right now that I have put my 2cents in.
Have I thought about voting for myself. DEFINATELY, but I will not do it. I do feel that it is not fair. For what reason I feel this, I do not know. I just dont do it.
Thanks for aksing this ?. I was wondering about the same question myself.

My guess is that if you answered the question truthfully, why is it wrong to vote it as the best answer?

As long as you think that your answer is the best it is ok

but if you just vote to get more points for yourself then it is wrong

I think it's immoral to ask questions you already know the answer to.

Why would you do that?

That's like playing chess against yourself and cheating?

It isn't immoral, just really really stupid.
