When I was a little girl I would tell people my name was Susan. Not really my name...... My younger brother spoke about remembering flying in an airplane, he had never been in an airplane. One of my Sons talked about another lifetime outright. My Grandson told me that he remembered when he was my little boy. I would like to study this because I am not getting any younger and I want to know what I was suppose to learn in this life, or if I am being punnished for things I have done in another life? I know that this go's against all christian beliefs or does it?

Have you read any books by Ian Stevenson or Brian Weiss? If not, you should. The world and most people in it are evidence that reincarnation is true. And speaking of true, the original true Christianity as Jesus taught it preached reincarnation and karma as the greatest and most beautiful wisdom which unfortunately many people of his time could not comprehend. Reincarnation doesn't go against Christianity -- Christianity goes against true Christianity.

Oooooooh Girl, are you gonna get whacked for this one. I'll answer you in a backwards fashion. I've picked up tools that I never saw before, made in the 17th century, that I not only knew what they were but how to use them. I went to a spring, while hiking in the hills of Vermont because I was thirsty but had never been there before but I "remembered" where the spring was. I had an argument with one of my teachers (many years ago) about the effectiveness of the Mongols bows and how they used them. I knew how they were drawn (Both push and pull at the same time) and the effective range of their arrows. The teach was surprised when he found out I was right, He would not believe a rider on horseback could hit a man sized target at 125 yards while galloping, but somehow I knew these things. Okay, so how did I know places I had never been to and facts about life before my own time? Put any name on it you want, but I'll tell you this, the bible and the pulpit don't have all the answers.

If you are of contemporary fundamental Christian faith, I don't want to offend you. So I will speak lightly here.

Many of us are aware of "Reincarnation" and some of us just call it "Incarnation" (another discussion).

We also understand that it does not go against some Christian beliefs. Many early Christians were aware of it and it was part of their structure. you see it was stricken from many religious documents around the 3rd century.

If you feel strongly to explore this avenue, congratulations we are pleased!

However, You may want to keep these points in mind as you expand.

1. While exploring past lives may be beneficial, it is THIS life that is of importance.
2.This exploration may open your life to a whole new perspective and other paths and endeavors.
3. And while you are on your new path be respectful of other view points and any you leave behind.

All I know about reincarnation is that it is after you die, your spirit comes back to life as something else. It could be a person or a animal. I used to believe in reincarnation after watching this show talking about how this one family experienced the same thing yours did when this boy claimed he had been flying an airplane in one of the wars. He died after the airplane crashed.

The Bible does not support reincarnation. If you are convicted that the whole Bible is the truth, then you have to believe, in faith, that reincarnation is a false teaching.
I can't explain 'remembering' events that did not take place except to say that the mind is an awesome thing and impossible to understand, yet. And you are not being punished for things in another life. When a person becomes a Christian, the old life is wiped away. We may still suffer earthly consequences of our sin but God does not remember those sins and therefore does not punish His children for them. Of course, the entire foundation to your answer is having faith that the whole Bible is the truth of God.

Gnostic Christians believed in reincarnation. That scared the hell out of the church. That blows their whole hellfire scheme to control the sheeple through fear. Consequently the powers that be declared the gnostic gospels to be heresy. Because of God's intervention, in my opinion, we have them again today.

Reincarnation is not question of religion, is a fact. Besides there are many passages in the Bible itself indicating that Christ and his followers were aware of the principle of reincarnation. Once, the disciples of Jesus asked him about the Old Testament prophecy that Elias would reappear on earth. In the Gospel of St. Matthew we read, "And lesus answered them, Elias shall truly first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not.... Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."Matthew. 17:9-13. In other words, Jesus declared that John the Baptist, who was beheaded by Herod, was a reincarnation of the prophet Elias. In another instance, Jesus and his disciples came across a man blind from birth. The disciples asked Jesus, "Who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?"John. 9:2. Regardless who had sinned, Jesus replied, here was a chance to show a work of God. He then cured the man. Now, had the man been born blind for a sin of his own, it must have been a sin done before his birth-that is, in a previous life. And this was a suggestion that Jesus did not dispute.

The Koran says, "And you were dead, and He brought you back to life. And He shall cause you to die, and shall bring you back to life, and in the end shall gather you unto Himself."Sura 2:28. Among the followers of Islam, the Sufis especially believe that death is no loss, for the immortal soul continually passes through different bodies.
The timeless Vedic scriptures of India confirm that the soul, according to its identification with material nature, takes one of 8,400,000 forms and, once embodied in a certain species of life, evolves automatically from lower to higher forms, ultimately attaining a human body.
Thus, all of the major Western religions-Judaism, Christianity, and Islam-have definite threads of reincarnation throughout the fabric of their teachings, even though the official custodians of dogma ignore or deny them.
Many people around the world remember events of their past lives.

What you say about been punished for things you have done in past lives, the answer is yes, that is called karma, but also you are rewarded by good things you have done.

In Bhagavad gita God. Krishna, speak this verse:
"As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change."
PURPORT
Since every living entity is an individual soul, each is changing his body every moment, manifesting sometimes as a child, sometimes as a youth, and sometimes as an old man. Yet the same spirit soul is there and does not undergo any change. This individual soul finally changes the body at death and transmigrates to another body.

What you suppose to learn is not to take birth again.

The Bhagavad-gitä (8.6) also explains the general principle that makes it possible to enter the spiritual kingdom simply by thinking of the Supreme at the time of death:

"Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his present body, in his next life he will attain to that state without fail."

"He who meditates on Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, his mind constantly engaged in remembering Me, undeviated from the path, he, O Pärtha, is sure to reach Me."

"For one who always remembers Me without deviation, I am easy to obtain, O son of Prthä, because of his constant engagement in devotional service."

"One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna."

Here is what I know about reincarnation....It doesn't exist except as a false belief of a false religion. The Bible says that it is appointed to man to die only once. Pretty clear.

Brandi24, "some people" are clearly wrong. It has NEVER been part of the Bible, nobody in the early church took it out because it was never in the Bible to begin with--Old Testament OR New Testament. Whoever led you to believe that lied to you.
