How do you ask a girl out to an impersonal gathering, (i.e. going to a fast food place when getting off work early, hanging with friends) when they already have a boyfriend.

When asking, how do you say it when the boyfriend is right there, so he doesn't beat the crud outta you?

I hear a lot about the 'Truth'. Literal, figurative, factual, or otherwise, is it as important as honesty?

You could start by talking about how God left Eve alone with Satan in the Garden of Eden, then blamed Eve for being tricked by the Devil.

Then move on to how God threw a temper tantrum and destroyed the world with flooding, including all the babies and butterflies because they were "ee-vil".

Then move on to how Pharoah wanted to release the Jews many times, but each time God "hardened his heart" so as to give God an excuse to kill more people (like the first-born, including the first-born cows).

I am sure there are many more atrocities to discuss (II Kings 2: 23-24 comes to mind).

Then you can give us a description of what God wanted to have happen to his only son so as to give God an excuse to forgive humanity for being tricked by the Devil whom God allowed into Eden.

Finally, you can round out the evening with a stirring rendition of Revelations 21:8, where God basically says "Love me or I'll kill you."

I was on my lunch hour and this bully coworker grabbed my napkin, said "now get yourself one" as he wiped his face with it. He had a nice homeade turkey sandwich on his plate so I smashed it with my fist! He in turn punched me in the face so hard that I fell backwards out of my chair. Should he have punched me?

I just answered a question about Christians wanting to abolish education. Many of the answers suggest that people think Christians do not care about education, or are simple minded etc.

I am really confused as to how these so called "more intelligent" people can think like this.

Ok so some Christians do not support the theory of Evolution. So this automatically means that they are dumb? and can not do well in school? or don't like science, math, language??
Or is it just that people like to criticize Christians for any and all reasons that they can come up with?

There ARE many many well educated Christians. There are Christian doctors, scientists, lawyers, teachers and so on....are you truly suggesting that these people are actually "dumb" because they may reject ONE theory of science?

Was Christianity allowed to prosper because of the lack of righteousness in most people? Does Christianity allow people who would not or could not follow the 613 mitzvot to at least follow the seven noahide laws??

When I was little I use to look up to the sky seeking comfort, but now I'm old enough to know better. Even as a youngster I didn't feel as though there was anything necessarily "out there." I feel that heaven has been taking literally as some place where we will chill for the afterlife. However, I don't feel as though heaven is actually a destination. At least not a physical destination.

In America, military might is revered above all else. It is the source of our power. To sustain such a force, new recruits are needed all the time. Is Christianity(and all other religions claiming an afterlife) a tool to comfort the less inclined that their life is not a loss? That their poverty is a virtue? The lower ranks of the US Army is filled mostly with blue collar conservatives, and those that don't share this way of thinking, usually come out of the service "corrected".

They never said why but threatened to stop further questions from me.
Was that because someone from a certain religion objected?
If so, it seems there is discrimination here.
Do you not agree? And what did I do wrong?

I am wondering whether to get my boyfriend a Father's Day gift (or whether my kids should). He lives with us and acts as a father figure to the kids, although he and I are not married. He does have a child of his own, but he gave her up for adoption and doesn't have contact with her. Should my kids get him a gift, or would that be presumptuous? Would he be offended if we DID give him something, or would he be more offended if we DIDN'T? What's the proper thing to do?

It has become abundantly obvious that one need not know so much as how to pick one's nose to be able to say "Jesus loves me" and thus be saved.

It has also become abundantly clear that Christians lack a convincing argument to convert intelligent 21st-century non-christians (offering money and power is -not- conversion).

Ergo it is obvious, the more intelligent we are, the less susceptible we are to joining Christianity.

Wouldn't that argue in favour of ending education entirely, so as to save more souls?

According to many Fellow Christian believers today, it seems their are more names that we can be saved by but what does the bibe say about this?

In Acts 12: 4 the writer says "Their is NO OTHER name under heaven given among men whereby we must be SAVED".

This only gives the name of the Son "Jesus Christ". Is this scripture denying the Father and Holy Spirit? No

Often when we baptise in Jesus name, some people say we ARE denying the Father and Holy Spirit. If this is Truth, then Acts 12: 4 is also denying them. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not seperate but are One, This is the One True God manifested in Three ways (Not Three persons).

We know their is only One God, This one God is known as the Father to all humanity (According to the OT). This One God who is our Father manifested himself in the Flesh "Jesus Christ". The body of Jesus is where God is. This one God gives us a portion of his Spirit, the Spirit is a Gift and not a thrid person. To God be the glory.

If Jesus and God were one, doesn't that make man and God one? How could we be separate from our creator? Wasn't Jesus telling us that God was within (God who resides in the Kingdom of Heaven is within)? So, the example that he set and that which he pointed to was within, no outside of us, right?
