They never said why but threatened to stop further questions from me.
Was that because someone from a certain religion objected?
If so, it seems there is discrimination here.
Do you not agree? And what did I do wrong?

I was talking about any religion that refuses to stun animals before slitting their throats.
It`s cruel - is that not so?

2007-06-15 02:24:42 · update #1

I admit that I do NOT agree with the way the animals are killed.
Some of you didn`t get it right.
The question was removed.
I was trying to bring it to the notice of those that care about animal cruelty!!!!!

Yes, some questions read by children, but they are in newspapers as well.
What`s the difference?
More people read newspapers than there are on YAHOO!

There are often people on here that read what they want rather than what you have said....this is probably what has happened with your question.

As for the slitting the throats before stunning it seems barbaric but, then stunning is horrible too! But then it is preferable to beating to death like our cave dwelling ancestors did!

hmm..well first of all in religions like Judaism and Islam that kill animals in the method mentioned is actually seen to be more thought full way towards animals - believe it or not. Because the idea is to well....(if any one is quite sensitive please don't read on) to cut one of the main arteries in that location mentioned and this is quickly done. After that the animal becomes unconscious and it actually feels no pain after that. Therefore as well as being the proper way to have Kosher or Halal meat its also seen as being more humane. Though i can understand that it does sound very harsh and this maybe why Yahoo warned you off maybe because it could offend people who are vegetarian for instance who are sensitive towards animals. Though i also do feel that if people are uncomfortable about such issues then they should choose to ignore such questions and besides Yahoo states 'ask questions & get answers on ANY topic' so i don't know what happend to them -change of plan i guess.

You sound a touch sadistic. I've never heard of a religion in North America that does ritual killing, unless it is a secret cult. When I worked at a bird processing plant (quail), they went through the stunner before their heads were cut off. Did you ever hold a birds head in your hand and watch the light dim in their eyes, it only takes a split second? Anyway, there are humane Laws for killing animals for food processors, and people who trap animals for fur (except for those sweet little baby seals of course, the government seems to think its all right, just in the seals case, to let them be killed in such a barbaric manner, you can see the slaughter every year on the news). I am of no religion, but your train of thought is offensive to me, and it is a crime to torment animals, except for the helpless baby seals of course, that is just archaic.

It will depend on how you asked the question.

If you asked for information about beliefs behind the practise,

or did you imply those who follow such actions are lesser humans etc.?

In other words was your question curious or about gaining knowledge or confrontational?

You get violations if you get enough complaints.

Sometimes we 'ask' questions which are rhetorical or expressing an opinion and aren't really questions at all.

I can't tell you if that is the case because you have not provided a link to your original question, to me you like you're searching for a sympathy vote and know you went OTT.

definitely not a religious objection i guess, but the PETA http://www.peta.org/ people or any of the animal rights activists could have reported you, or even worse, might be working in the YA team...LOL

these people will hunt you down till you begin respecting the animals like your own siblings, be careful what you are posting next...

(sorry if I am not taking the post too seriously, just in a really good mood for laughs today and everything seems to me funny)

I think it probably has more to do with people who love animals than it does with any particular religion. As a christian, it bothers me that it was done by Jews in the past, it bothers me that the Santera religion still does it, it bothers me when people spend thousands of dollars to buy the most expensive guns and equipment to kill deer for fun, it basically bothers me when any animal is slaughtered. So maybe your question hit a nerve with an animal loving moderator.

Well since all meat from two major religions is killed that way surely it could have been legitimate questioning, however, I didn't see the question so can't possibly make a definitive judgement.

How were you warned off, did a few heavies have a quiet word in your shell like. I dont fully agree with the first guy, you should be allowed to ask whatever you want, people can choose to ignore you

What you did was not wrong as the practice is still performed to this day by kosher jews and I think muslims. Odd piece of history one of the "evilest" men to ever live was dead set against animal cruelty and passed laws forbidding it almost immediately upon coming to power. Know who it was?

I agree with Yahoo. Stop posting questions such as these where children can read them. If you didn't want this negative attention, you would re-write the headlines in a less offensive manner. Go someplace where you are fully accepted, or learn to live within the rules.

POST NOTE:
On a question such as this, whenever I get a thumb's down I consider it a personal victory.
