People are the same everywhere. You're going to find lots of bright, intelligent, athletic, creative and motivated individuals mixed in with a portion of fat, lazy, mean, self-conscious kids who can't spell.

America can be like that in certain parts. This country is too diverse to describe. The American experience is what you make it. If you don't like fat, lazy, mean, stupid, and self conscious people that can't spell then don't hang out with them. There are plenty of other types here too. That is why America is called the melting pot, we have all sorts of people. Honestly, I'm really not sure why that is the stereotypical American. Actually there is no stereotypical American because we are everyone. As for the schools, that all depends on which school you go to. Some suck, while others are great.

Although there are many people like you described, there are quite a few that aren't. The majority of America is overweight. We, as a whole, eat a lot of fast food, and unhealthy foods too. We tend to spend a lot of time in front of the television as well. There are a lot of people you will see jogging, running, and exercising, and the exercise machine market BOOMS here. There are some mean people, but I think you deal with that anywhere you go. Depending on where you are moving, people are different, and the cultures are different. I haven't been to high school in 5 years, so I'm not sure what it's like anymore. From what I can tell, there is a lot of security, due to recent shootings, however, that changes throughout the country as well. Depending on the size of the school, you will have to deal with cliques. I'm not sure what Australian schools are like, so I can't compare them. As for the not being able to spell, there are a lot of people who can, but you will also have to face things being spelled differently, such as colour and color.

well first off where are you moving to? People in the bigger cities like new york and los angeles and chicago are ***** and for the most part total *** *****...... the smaller towns and cities have more friendly and nicer people. the midwest is probably where youll find the nicest people. as far as the schools go......... well most public schools do fall below where you would think they should be as far as the level of education. most teachers just dont care. As far as Americans being fat, lazy, etc., yes there are lots of fat people.... as far as lazy mean etc., it is no different than anywhere else.... i mean you get a mix of all the different people wherever you go. as far as people not being able to spell well, yes, that is a common problem. another failure of the school system.
but all in all the USA is a great place, for real. if you got more questions feel free to message me.

Well, thats pretty much true. LOL Except us Americans are exceptional spellers hahaha. Depends on what area you're moving to as far as what the schools are like. And not all of us are fat. And our president has a brick for a brain.

The stereotypes do not always apply. There are good schools and not so good schools. It depends where you live, for public schools. Inner city schools are usually pretty bad. Schools in the rich suburbs are very good.
We do have too many fat children. We are working on that. I hope you enjoy your new home.

There's been a misconception about America in recent years thanks to the attitude around the world about our current President.
It's a big country and depends on where exactly you'll be moving to in America. The ones you described are mostly in the inner cities and the rural deep south. Otherwise, it's mostly a very nice place to live.
