I have just three things to teach:

Simplicity, patience, compassion.

These three things are your greatest treasures.

Simple in actions and in thoughts,

You return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies,

You accord with the way things are.

Compassionate toward yourself,

You reconcile all beings in the world.

Every person has different things that offer them comfort. Although I may have a different opinion, I do not tear down another person's beliefs. This is THEIR comfort, after all.

By acknowledging and reinforcing another's beliefs, we show an acceptance in their validity and worth, immediately making them comfortable. Not only is this Compassionate, it is Right Action and only proper behaviour for other's beliefs are in truth quite valid.

Why else show Compassion except to make another comfortable within their Faith and belief...?

I try to work within thier beliefs in order to offer them comfort....
This is not to say that I might not find something useful to add from my own beliefs, but when someone is troubled, better to use what they would consider familiar territory..... some things, such as simply listening, are universal, and not an issue of beliefs...

All i try to do(incidentally)is reinforce(comfort, same thing) the genuine christians here.

Christians are right at the end of the day but the way they are attacked and offended is unbelievable,i'm just another voice that thinks the same as they do.
Christians arent wrong to think what they think.

Despite the beliefs of either, first I acknowledge what's bothering them and make sure I understand it from their perspective. If they are Christian, I share my faith and explain where my strength comes from. If they are of some religion (Christianity is not a religion, it's a way of life), if I don't know much about their persuasion I draw out of them where their faith should help them gain strength. Last, I ask if I may pray with them while I'm talking to them.
