When I was little I use to look up to the sky seeking comfort, but now I'm old enough to know better. Even as a youngster I didn't feel as though there was anything necessarily "out there." I feel that heaven has been taking literally as some place where we will chill for the afterlife. However, I don't feel as though heaven is actually a destination. At least not a physical destination.

Yeah, when I was a young boy I imagined it as my own personal fantasy land with lots of ice cream, toys, and cartoons. Now that I'm older, I feel like it is a false promise given to people to keep them going to church.

Romans 10:17

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

Good question--and sincere I see--

Sis, to me, this scripture from Romans really sheds light on your situation--you didn't say anything about reading the bible in your life so I naturally assumed that if you are anything like me, you probably don't wake up in the morning and go read the bible, much less read it everyday looking for the truth.

Sis, if you really want to know if God is real, I would encourage you to read the book of John in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) which is the last of the four accounts of Jesus' life.

"Faith comes from hearing the message"

the truth of the matter, is that no one alive doesn't know. It's one of the many mysteries of life.

so most people develop a belief, a working hypothesis, to use an anchor for their life. If the belief doesn't work in a few yrs, one usually develops another.

Heaven is a literal place spoken of in Scripture.

It will be a place where believers will live eternally with Christ. How about you....will I see you there as well?

There's still time to trust in Him......

yeh i think i agree. i dont think it's just a pretty place in the sky. but if you believe in heaven, chances are you believe in a God who made everything, and if he made everything, than heaven could be anything imaginable, really. it doesnt have to be the dreamy, probably mythical place in the sky.
