I don't think it's the childbirth itself, but the pain and messiness of the entire situation that constitutes what people call "the curse". But that's enough to turn this Christian off the idea of ever having children.

If any of them still perceive child birth as a curse, I hope they don't procreate, as it is high time we moved away from such idiocy, and with ideas like that being passed on to the next generation, how can we ever move forward?

Religion has given people some of the most ludicrous "knowledge" ever known. These concepts were formed in the dark ages, when witches were burned at the stake or drowned, and the earth was flat. Let's move on a little, shall we?

Anyway, I thought the menstruation cycle was "the curse", not childbirth??

A child is a gift from God, not a curse. A mother soon forgets all the pain of giving birth once she sees the child.

It's not a curse from God but when Adam and Eve had a choice to sin that is when God turned their lives from good to having to pay for their sins. That's why women nowdays have pain when giving birth a reminder of Eve. I am a Christian and always knew that childbirth would be painful but that didnt stop me from having a couple of kids. With pain comes a good outlook to life.

Childbirth is not a curse. Childbirth is an opportunity for humans to participate in Creation with God. That's why it's called "procreation."

Read the Bible more carefully. Eve's curse was that her pains in childbearing would INCREASE. There was always pain, and childbearing itself was not the curse.
