If there is a god of some sort, then he (or they) holds all the answers. A majority of people (at least in America) say they believe in God. So why not spend your daily life trying to find him?

If you get a comforting feeling from believing in god but don't know whether he's real or not, are you comfortable with the possibility that you're living a lie just to "feel good"?

note- I am a christain that believes God is absolutely real. I just wonder why people try to use him as a comfort net to fallinto whenthey need it, but after that they have no daily need for him.

...and I don't think that any of you are evil. I don't hate any of you, and I do not judge you. (This is in response to the person who posted about Christians and their posts on here). Christians who come in here and insult you and tell you you are going to burn in hell (or whatever else it is they say about you) are poor examples of Christians, and I apologize for them. It is the Christian belief that homosexuality is wrong, but that does not give people the right to be hateful and obnoxious to you. Please know that that is not the kind of Christianity that God expects from us...it is wrong. I love you just the way you are!

Why do these people say both?
Example: "Naughty or Nice"? "Oh, I;m nice but i also like to be naughty!" Nobody asked you that.
Another example: "Innie or outie"? "stay or go"? "black or white"? "yes or no"?
The only question that seems to get a definite response is COLTS or Bears? Some idiot will probably say it will be a tie!

i'm taking a religion class...it's basically a history class where we go through all the different religions. anyway i was just wondering you know how like when you're learning about the puritans how it seems like their entire lives revolve around their religion...is that the way it really was? or was it more like today where people use it as a guide and don't question everything with whether god would approve or not? were they really just normal people and that's just what they emphasize when they teach it to us?

Do all religions worship the Almighty dollar “In god we trust” ?
So what are you: dollar chasing American , Greenbacker , Roman Denierist,
Pennycostal , pentaclelist, Morformeist, Golden Calf Oil Cartelist,
Buddhist Beggar, Atheistical taxman , Sales and bible marketing ?
None of these are real religions but they could be and are closer to
the reasons that religions thrive then the values that Jesus tried to whip
into the money lenders .No wonder people think religions are a bit hypocritical… they say one thing and do another . Why not be honest
and form a religion based on money that admits it! What would it be called ?

ok.. so vday is coming up and my bf and i have been going out for 2 months. were 14 but serious for being 14. this is my first valentines day with a bf and i don't know what to get him. he loves soccer and music. i thought about making him a cd but i realized that he could just get that music off itunes. i don't want to make my gift to big and his be small, or vice versa.

i have some very very stupid neighbours who live on the floor above us ...truly ,its my exams nearing,and i need to study with full concentration and tempo ,but these people dont understand!
they have come from a village,and god!...i dunno HOW they landed on my head! they play their TV and music 20HOURS and shout at the top of their voices ALL the time...i can even hear their mother giving thier children slaps - they dont even know how to speak ...--i dunno what kinda culture they have!
i am really not used to all this commotion,i live in a quiet house where even a pin drop is audible,my parents dont hear it coz thier room is further away..but i am stuck that way!
i really dont wanna make an issue out of it,but i cant help it!....first when they came i thought they wud settle in to city life,and tried to adjust,but these people are ridiculous!
in exams for some days i tell them to keep it all low and they do comply...but they dont understand that they have to maintain it !

Isn't it all repeating? they used to accuse someone of heresy in old Christian times, now it's the same with terrorism;

the other day on the news the Etheopian Leader accused Eriteria (A Muslim country) of committing a terrorist attack against Etheopia, But Invading Somalia (An Islamic country) for no appearant reason is in the name of Democracy and freedom?

Seems like you can call anyone a terrorist nowadays, it's sort of like reporting someone on yahoo, you don't have to be right. The same goes to "Anti-semitism" (see my previous question)
