My friend with whom I grew up with since birth started going to a
church a few years ago. I knew this church was part of the christian coaltiion but my friend and her husband have given so much of their income to the church that they are now needing financial help and she is allienating her grown children and her family because she does not deem them "christians". The only people she talks with belong to this church and only speaks to her parents when things get so bad she has to ask for money. The worry is making her mother sick and her father is very angry at the "church" for brain washing his daughter. I thought these so called mainstream churches were there to help people seek salvation not separete themselves from society. What can I do?

One arument if favour of Intelligent Design I often read is that certain features, such as the eye, are too complex to have arisen by natural means.

But such complex features are arising all the time - every new baby of a species that has eyes - by entirely natural means. If the ID argument is sound should we not posit that every new baby is intelligently designed? In which case would this refute current biological theories about eggs, DNA, gestation etc etc the "theory of reproduction"?

It seems to me either that:
1. Yes, you have to reject the "theory of reproduction" or
2.. Intelligent Design is compatible with the "theory of reproduction"

If "2" then you have to ask yourself what ID is actually saying and have to work pretty hard to get it to exclude evolution. Evolution may be wrong but it would not be ID that showed it to be so and another naturalist explanation of the changes in life forms would be immune to criticism by ID.

So IDers - which is it 1 or 2?

I like this guy, but I don't think he's gay. Although he could be because sometimes he acts gay playfully but sometimes he seems like he is. is it okay to have not been baptised, even though i am currently becoming a better and more faithful person in the name of god, i want to know if i need to be baptised, i believe in the holy spirit and follow in his name, and i know baptism is important, i believe in the afterlife and heaven and a dark place in which sinners do enter, to be punished for all eternity

i want to know if by not being baptised, am i in the path of decision over heaven and hell, am i leaning towards the other side of jesus by not being baptised?

if so...should i get baptised, what will happen if i dont?

God is a complete stranger to us. He is a stranger to our freinds and relatives. He is more of a stranger than Bush to me. I see Bush on television and newspaper everyday.
If he is all powerful he could be able to manage the world without anyone following him. He allows heaven to all evil people just because they are baptized and believes in him. Atheists, people who are not baptized are sent to hell however good they are. Why should we be worried about such a person?

One assertion I keep coming across against evolution is that whilst variations do arise this is really just "shuffling the pack": no NEW information arises.

What puzzles me is exactly what is meant by "new information"?. Does not "new information" mean:

1. Different information
2. Before time T wasn't there and now is

DIFFERENCE
You and I are a bit like, but different to, our parents. We are a bit like, but different to all other human beings. Every human being has a unique sequence of DNA. Given that this AT LEAST defines "you" as opposed to "me" the information is different.

TIME T
Your DNA was fixed at conception. Before then the different information that defines "you" did not exist.

So what does
1. "no new information", in the context of refuting evolution, mean?
2. How is that law scientifically established?
3. How could it, in principle, be falsified? ("in principle"- if its true it wont be of course)

U christians believe in trinity: which means that according to you there are 3 Gods,which are Mary/Marayam, Jesus/Isa(PBUH), and who is the next one. If Jesus prayed to God, who according to u is his Father, shouldn't u pray to Him? When u guyz want your sins to be forgiven, why should u go to priest for that, I mean its none of the priest business as, its your sin and u should alone ask forgiveness to God, why should the priest be in the middle of this..when Crusades won a war, from wot i know, that they filled the battle area with their enemies bloo as a sign of purity, now i dunno whether its true or not, but ain't that Barbaric...when Jesus said about the Holy comforter, according to your religion, I think he didn't say whether the Holy Comforter will be in flesh or not, so how can u know that it is not Prophet Muhammed who is the Holy Comforter...
