I'm a Christian myself, but I'm not a churchgoer. I personally think there is way too much obsession with it in the world.

I'm quite shocked on the number of questions that point only negative people who happen to be Black. Some claim not to be racist, but only focusing on race is racism to me. When are people going to realize that color is just a color and a murderer and criminal can be white, black, brown or whatever. Instead of complaining about a "race" shouldn't we learn how to fight the solution and not be part of the problem?

Why?

Personally I have to go with amoral. It recognizes that I am unfettered by their ad hoc systems of moral conformity.

As a former Catholic I don't remember ever hearing discussions about people like: St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Bernard of Clairvaux or Hildegard Von Bingen. It wasn't until I got into college that I started to learn about this crowd. I wish I had been introduced to their writings earlier.

It seems to me that Jesus was pretty specific about this. How can a major Christian leader justify advocating the assassination of Hugo Chavez just because he says nasty things about us? How do Christians justify trying to retaliate for 9/11?

Believers.... What would you do if tomorrow you woke up to find solid incontrivertable proof that God/s don't exist, and that the bible was completely fictitious?? What would you think, feel, say or do if you found out everything you believed or knew was false?

Non-believers... What would you do if tomorrow you woke up to find incontrivertable evidence that God/s do exists and creation as written in the bible really did happen?? What would you think, feel, say or do if you found out everything you believed or knew was false?

Please keep in mind this is a hypothetical question, I am not asking for a debate about the existence or non existence of God/s. I am merely asking "what if" tomorrow we had absolute proof either way, how would that affect you??

Why do so many Christians insist on having their religious icons and customs incorporated in government property and activities. If you want to practice your religion at home or your church that's fine but leave religion completely out of all government activities. I, as a 13th generation American, don't want ANY link between ANY religion and government.

I.E, Genesis is not part of God’s ‘old testament’. 2 Corinthians 3:14-15 (scripture) refers to law given by Moses as the ’old testament’ (KJV, or ‘old covenant’ in many other English translations).
Before Moses; Jesus Matthew 19:7-9. Again he references Moses, not Adam (the first man described in Genesis). (I could easily add as a second witness here, God the Father, Matt. 17:5).
After Moses; Joshua (Joshua 8:31)
David (2 Kings 2:3)
Daniel (Daniel 9:11-13)
Nehemiah, (Nehemiah 8:1)
Malachi (Malachi 4:4)
Paul (2 Cor. 3:13-14) and others etc.
Can the law of Moses exist, before Moses is born?
Does not the 2 or more witnesses principle basically provide freedom when applied?
Would this potential change in thinking (repentance?) help reduce differences with atheists and agnostics also?

If you harm innocent people, you leave your religion.
If you commit suicide, you leave your religion.
Fight a holey war against those things inside you that separate you from god.
Peace be with you

I have never attended anything except a Baptist church. I am thinking about visiting an Episcopal church. I am single and will be going alone. No one there knows me. Will I feel welcome or awkward? What can I expect? I'm kind of shy and want to do this, but am a bit scared. Thanks!

One thing that I have noticed is a great lack of camaraderie among fellow believers. Ultimately you all believe in the same/same idea of god, but it seems you all disagree vehemently with the path to reach it. If all of these sects are built upon the same book, why does anyone feel they know the one and only true way- wouldn't it be universal no matter what? The core beliefs remain with all of them, its the practices and focuses that change (as well as a few books in the bible)... Isn't this like an apple fighting with an orange over the right to be called a fruit?

SO do you feel that this has become a sort of competition for your god's attention, and do you think this was what he initially wanted? Wouldn't he have wanted his followers to love each other instead?
