Well...a "sin" is an offense against some god, so you'd have to believe in a god to think it was a sin.

It *is* ILLEGAL, and it's also immoral. By illegally downloading music for free that you should pay for, you are stealing money from the publishers and artists who make the music. You may justify your actions by telling yourself they already have enough money, but that doesn't make it any more legal or moral. Would you like it if someone stole the fruits of YOUR hard work, didn't pay you for what you work at, and don't care that it's illegal? Probably not...so why should you do that to other people?

Downloading music, games, etc. without receiving licensing rights is a violation of copyright laws, basically because it's considered to be stealing. If those sites have received approval from the artists to have their music downloaded for free, then there's no copyright infringement, therefore no stealing. Without obtaining permission, though, you aren't not only breaking the law, but you essentially are stealing as well, thus sinning.

I know, I know-lots of people are going to say that these big corporations make way too much money, they take advantage of the artists, blah, blah, blah. That may well be true, but I'm trying to answer your question in a "black or white" fashion, not "gray area".

If you are paying for it it is not a sin, but downloading it for free(or "pirating"it)is. It is because in the Bible it says not to steal and it is stealing. But even if you do not believe in God, it still makes no sense because your stealing from the musical artists that your a fan of, in case you didn't know when you do this they get no money for the music. And one last thing is that the more people pirate music the more strict the music industry is going to get, and that makes it hard to import albums. Thanks for the good question.

i dont know what religion its would be in.. so i seriously doubt that its a 'sin'. its illegal to download, reproduce and sell it. i know that much. if those sites werent supposed to be there dont you think the government would have pulled a napster on them?? either shut them down or make you pay to use it???

nicely, i'm assuming you're a Christian? Jesus mentioned to do unto others as you're able to have them do to you, and he additionally mentioned to love others as your self. Now, you're able to argue that in case you have been them, you does no longer ideas. yet, you're no longer them and maximum of them do ideas. that's their assets that they sell to you. in case you acquire for loose, and the artist would not want that to ensue, then you quite are basically stealing from them. would not rely if that's criminal. i'm particular you may think of of a few issues that are criminal yet additionally are sins. only on the grounds which you may does no longer advise which you're able to. i'm very sorry that i presumed incorrectly... possibly you ought to proportion what ideals you stick to - diverse religions define sins in diverse techniques. in spite of the undeniable fact that, maximum could agree that stealing could be a sin, and that i think of that downloading for loose is a stealing. yet, there is loads of discussion approximately it. i understand that as quickly as I regarded at limewire there grew to become into an poor lot of superb print that indicated that that's obtainable to acquire illegally there, and that they weren't to blame for it.
