You are in direct contact. God is in you and you are in God. At the deepest level you are one. Be careful of how you interpret the word 'God'.-----I almost forgot to answer your question...the relationship varies according to the need, how many roles does God play? Parent, spouse, teacher, friend, etc.

There is no evidence of any kind that there is any such thing as "god." There is considerable evidence that every "god" ever worshipped by humans was entirely made up by humans, and is not real.

There is no evidence or proof of "god," therefore there can be no evidence or proof of any relation between humans and something that doesn't exist. By any defintion, such a relationship is impossible, and not "real." Anyone who tells you otherwise is assuming that myth, superstition, and ideas for which there is no evidence of any kind are "real" -- what kind of logic is that?

God is spirit! With our spirit within we have a personal covenant and/or connection to the source, even when we don't acknowledge it.
